Entertain your cuddly critter companion with rat toys, habitat accessories, and more from Petco. All small animals need engaging and fun accessories in their habitat to encourage them to exercise and entertain themselves, that includes your pet rat. So, let’s take a look at the types of toys and habitat accessories your furry friend enjoys the most.
Rats are intelligent and curious animals, so they enjoy toys that have interactive components. They can usually play with simple mazes, hide-and-seek games, or squeezy balls and other texture toys. They also like to chew cardboard boxes or paper towel rolls, as well as chewable wooden blocks.
Rats like to have different levels in their cage where they can explore and hide, so toys such as bridges, ladders, and tubes are great! Additionally, they enjoy objects with interactive components, chewable wooden blocks, and tunnels.
You can keep your rat entertained with a variety of toys and activities. Encourage play with interactive toys such as mazes and hide-and-seek games. Providing tunnels, bridges, and ladders in the cage will also help to stimulate their curiosity.

Hello! I was looking into getting a pet mouse around Christmas and was wondering if I need a heater for the mouse so it doesn't get cold. I was also wondering if I could give the mouse and old clean sock for bedding. Either to lay in or to use for his/he'd bedding material. Thank you so much for your help.
Right now I don’t have access to buying rat chew toys for my little rat and it seems that they’re already starting to overgrow. Are things like popsicle sticks ok as an alternative until I am able to buy the chew toys?
do rats prefer to sleep on bare plastic?
I have a pet rat and I have tried many different wood stick chewing products. She will chew on them only when they are fresh and she only chews very little. Her main diet is Higgins Sunburst Rat and Mouse food which has hard nuts and other foods. Will that be enough to keep her teeth trimmed down? Do you have any suggestions? She tends to be a little picky.
I'm looking to make a rat enclosure out of a display cabinet/ book shelf. Do I have to find untreated wood? Could varnish harm them?
I bought a critter cage for my rat. It has powder coated wire bars on the floor of the cage with a litter tray under it. I've read conflicting reports on whether the wire bars on the floor could hurt the rat's feet? What is the medical opinion?
