Caring for a dog in discomfort is a challenge every pet parent wishes to overcome swiftly. Petco, committed to your pet's well-being, offers a trusted range of prescription dog medications designed to alleviate pain, inflammation, and symptoms of arthritis. As the leading name in pet care, we provide a variety of medications, including popular choices of NSAIDS (Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) like Metacam, Previcox, Gabapentin, and Prednisone, ensuring that your pet receives the best care tailored to their needs.
Ordering pain relief for dogs from Petco is simple. Just add the item to your cart, fill in your pet and veterinarian’s information, and our team will handle getting the prescription.
The amount of pain medicine you give your canine will depend on the product and their condition. Your pet’s veterinarian may decide to start them out on a higher dosage that is reduced over time. For this reason, follow their dosing recommendations and pay attention to special instructions like administering medication with food, vitamins, or supplements.
Pet-specific NSAIDs are a great way to help relieve your dog's arthritic pain. Always discuss your pup’s pain with your veterinarian before giving them any type of medication.
Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) can bring relief to your pup by reducing painful joint inflammation, helping with mobility, stiffness, reluctance to switch positions from standing to lying down, and more. NSAIDs have the same effect on dogs as they do on humans, but never give your pet human medications without veterinarian approval. Human NSAIDs can be harmful to pets when administered improperly. It’s important to contact your veterinarian so they can prescribe your dog with NSAIDs made specifically for their pain and inflammation.

Hello, my dog won’t sit/lay down for longer than 2 minutes. Recently was diagnosed with Arthritis (2 months ago) but was told it wasn’t severe enough yet to require surgery/meds. He’s been acting weird the last couple of hours, its Easter Sunday so vets are closed so is there any medicine we can buy at the store to ease his pain so he can sleep until we can see our vet tomorrow. Thanks
