Good but needs some upgrades

I bought this product a few weeks ago..but I just now got to use it for my hamster. When I had it attached to the side of the cage, the tubes would too over because the top is so heavy. I had to make my own support for it to stand up

This is one of the most inhumane products ever. If i could give it a negative number I would. By no means should a hamster EVER go in these attachments. As a first time hamster owner, I was completely unaware.
Our hamster got stuck in the "lookout" area, and was terrified to come down. Not big enough for a hamster at all.
We returned this item and all the other Kaytee hamster attachments with it.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Kaytee has to stop manufacturing these tunnels

These toys and tunnels are not suitable for sirian hamsters, they are too small and there is a risk our pet get stuck in them.

How to securely connect tubes and wheel to habitat/cage? Don't lock-in. We have the Kaytee CritterTrail Sm Animal Habitat Starter Kit. We added the wheel to one of the side ports of the cage. Other parts went on other side going up--toppled. Thanks.

Are the tubes able to support when connected vertically and the wheel hanging off with the weight of the hamster?
- Yes. The pieces fit together very tightly (sometimes too tight) so support is very good. I sometimes use a butter knife to help seperate pieces including connection rings, if placed strategically and gently pried, pieces are easier to seperate. Even my adult syrians will use this wheel, although they barely fit, must be a novelty for them. The wheel may rotate around the connector ring. I stop this so the wheel will stay in a position I want, by placing a piece of duct tape - connecting ring and piece. BTY I do use duct tape in a number of places. Over broken latches and to stabilize tubes or pieces. Not anywhere the hamsters can chew it though.
