It may take up to 24 hours for the credit(s) to show. Members must purchase at least one full-service bath or bath with haircut every 12 months for credit(s) towards a free groom to remain active.

: Walk-in services, such as nail trimming, teeth-brushing, ear cleaning, and gland expression are unavailable for online or over the phone booking. Simply visit a Petco Grooming Salon near you for these services. Subject to groomer's schedule.

For the health and safety of all guests and groomers, we require proof of current vaccinations based on your pet's age. Requirements include:

Dogs

Under 16 weeks: At least 2 sets of puppy starter vaccinations that include distemper, hepatitis and parvovirus
16 weeks and older: Rabies vaccination

Cats

Under 16 weeks: Parvovirus, herpesvirus type-1 and calicivirus
16 weeks and older: Rabies vaccination

Please make sure there's at least a 24-hour time period between vaccine administration and their grooming service. For questions, we recommend consulting with your Petco salon to ensure that your pet has the proper vaccinations prior to their appointment.

Are their vaccinations expired? Visit Petco Veterinary Services to find a convenient Petco walk-in vaccination clinic.

: Pricing varies by store/location, dog breed/size and service selected. True price can only be quoted after completing the online booking process.

: The amount is at your discretion, but standard tips are 15 - 20 percent of the total cost. You'll receive an invoice at the end of your appointment with an option to add tip for your groomer.

: The amount of time a grooming service takes depends on your pet's size and the type of service requested. Your groomer will be able to provide an estimated time of completion at check-in or over the phone.

Minor walk-in only services unless part of a bath or groom, such as nail trimmings, approximately take 5 minutes and, depending on salon availability, no appointment is necessary. However, we recommend calling your local salon to confirm availability.

To have uninterrupted care by one designated stylist, less kennel and wait time, ask your groomer when you arrive for your appointment to upgrade to VIP Treatment. This is a solution for dogs who get anxious and for brachycephalic breeds, such as French Bulldogs, English Bulldogs, Pugs, and Boxers.

: We offer several methods of drying that are designed to ensure the safety and comfort of every pet. These methods include air drying, towel drying, non-heated hand-held and kennel dryers. For brachycephalic breeds - such as Bulldogs, English Bulldogs, Pugs, Boxers, Boston Terriers, Shih Tzus - that are prone to respiratory issues, we do not allow the use of kennel dryers.

: For dogs, we offer online booking on petco.com and on the Petco app. For cats, please call your salon to confirm if a groomer for cats is available. If you'd like to chat with a groomer about your pet's specific needs, call your local salon.

: Your puppy can enjoy all our grooming salon services! We offer a puppy shampoo specifically formulated for a gentle cleanse on your puppy's skin and coat, and all our shampoos are safe for puppies 12 weeks and older.

: Petco dog groomers are trained to the highest standards and must successfully complete an 800-hour, 20-week course for certification. Visit Petco Grooming Certification Process for a more detailed guide on the certification process.

A few ways we ensure your pet's safety in the grooming salon is by:

Completing a comprehensive 7-Point Pet Care Check for every pet upon check-in to ensure nothing looks or feels abnormal
Using ramps or steps for senior dogs to get into the tubs or bathe really large dogs on the floor
Providing industry-standard comfortable and safe kennels
Utilizing the Groomer's Helper tool, designed to help safely maintain control of your pet's body and head while on the grooming table
Dog-to-dog contact is prevented while pets are in the salon
Salons are cleaned & disinfected throughout their entire visit

: With over 25 years of grooming experience, we continuously review and update our pet grooming policies, procedures and standards under the supervision of our Director of Veterinary Medicine, with counsel from several independent experts in animal care, behavior and ethics. Since 2015, we've worked together with the Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council (PIJAC) and the Professional Pet Groomers & Stylists Alliance (PPGSA) to encourage and support national health and safety standards for the grooming industry. : When you see the Clean Ingredients badge at our grooming salons or on our grooming shelves it means the service or product does not contain parabens, phthalates and chemical dyes. Currently our Clean badge is only given to some of our grooming salon offerings and grooming products like certain shampoos, conditioners, and balms.

Parabens are a commonly used preservative in shampoos, lotions and other cosmetics that extend the shelf life of products.

: Phthalates are used to soften plastics and dissolve other chemicals. They're an unnecessary fragrance stabilizing ingredient and are not used in our formulas.

: Chemical dyes, also known as synthetic dyes, are substances made primarily from petrochemical raw materials like benzene or naphthalene, which produce color by absorbing certain wavelengths of visible light. They're often used without benefit in place of natural dyes commonly derived from botanical or mineral sources.

: We've reviewed the ingredients in our grooming products and chosen products without parabens, phthalates and chemical dyes in their formulations to offer you and your pet services and products you can feel good about.

: Every grooming service, brand and product that has the Clean Ingredients badge has been certified by the manufacturer to be made without the parabens, phthalates and chemical dyes.
