Just like taking vitamins for your health, your coral may benefit from additives and supplements. Because every aquarium is different from setup to aquatic life, there is no solution that fits every aquarist. For a fish only aquarium, completing a regular water change may suit your aquatic life's needs. A reef tank full of corals may require the addition of calcium, alkalinity, magnesium and other trace elements. These elements are the building blocks for many corals and invertebrates, as they grow these elements are absorbed reducing their levels within the aquarium.
