At Petco, we carry a broad selection of healthy and nutritious chicken feed. Plus, you’ll find options specially formulated to strengthen immunity, boost egg production and provide your chickens with all the essential nutrients they need to thrive.
Chickens will eat anything, so it’s important to provide them with a ready supply of the kind of food that’s best for them – a mix of high-quality, nutritious chicken feed pellets or crumbles and a seed mix called scratch. For variety, you can supplement the feed with a selection of fresh vegetables, fruits, grains and seeds, too. Chicken feed and scratch should make up most of their diet.
As a general rule, estimate about 1/4 pound of feed per chicken per day. But remember that your chicken requires a mix of chicken feed, scratch and grit to ensure a well-balanced nutritious diet.
Shop right here at Petco for the best selection of chicken feed and treats to keep your chickens healthy and thriving. We make it easy to set up Repeat Delivery, so you’re never out of food for your flock.
Proper nutrition is essential to keeping your layers healthy and productive. So always look for chicken feed and scratch that’s fortified with vitamins and minerals and is specifically formulated for laying hens. For grit, choose an option like oyster shells to boost calcium intake and aid in the formation of eggshells.
