Prescription cat food is specially formulated to meet the nutritional needs of cats with specific medical conditions. These diets usually contain fewer calories, lower amounts of fat, higher quality proteins, and other ingredients that help to treat diseases and medical conditions such as allergies, bladder stones, diabetes, kidney problems, and more. Regular cat food on the other hand is designed to meet the normal dietary needs of cats without any medical issues.
Yes, prescription cat foods require a prescription from your vet in order to purchase them. Talk to your vet if you think your cat might benefit from prescription food.

Best low-carb wet food for cats?
Hi, got told by a vet to put my cat on a diet, was a low calorie royal canin food but cant remember the name of it to buy could you help in some advice.
My cat 12 yr old domestic short hair, has a hyperthyroid and vet recommended a high protein diet to help him gain weight, what trusted cat foods can i buy to feed him? Thanks
My vet has prescribed to may cat Royal canin SO (as he had Urinary disease). However, I read its ingredients, it contains lots of grain and carbs, meat quality and content are also very dubious (probably 4D meats). Are there any alternatives against urinary disease, but grain-free, low carbs and good meat?
What's a good soft cat food, for cat with IBD? (that's not Hills ID or royal canin gastrointestinal)
My cat has been to the vet twice for vomiting. It is most likely that she has IBD. The vet has prescribed Royal Canin Selected Protein Duck, but kitty wont eat it. I found Natural Balance Limited Ingredient Diet Duck and Green Pea, which she likes better. Is this food a good alternative to Royal Canin? I just want her to eat. She keeps losing weight
I need some high fibre wet cat food. What do you recommend
What is the best cat food for a cat with food based allergies
Dry food recommendations please
I brought my cat (4 YO black American short hair) to the vet a few months ago after she was scooting frequently and her glands were released. Our vet said she needed to be changed to a high fiber diet which we did immediately (Image attached below). This was in fact one of the ones the vet told us to buy. However, she now wants wet food and I have no clue what to give her. I read up on Merrick and am unsure which specifically to buy. Help! Please and thank you!
