I was excited about this for my 7 year old but it’s not sturdy enough it tips over. Kinda bummed about it my 7 year old worries that jellybean might get out.

I bought this in store after my dogs grooming appointment for full price. I am currently writing this bleary eyed in the middle of the night. I was actually woken up to a pooping sound and the top of this look out flying down and hitting my head. Thankfully I was sleeping on the floor of my daughter's room, so thus happened and woke me up. Pinky the hamster popped the top off! There is no way to lock it. I immediately jumped to put it on, but things only got worse. He had tried to scamper down the tunnel when I scared him, but got stuck because bedding he carried up throughout the day fell down the hole and trapped him. Terrified he would suffocate, I twisted the bottom of the tunnel off. He is still moving, but I can't get him out. I wonder my husband and daughter, who gave me strong electrical tape to secure the saucer lid on. I'm exhausted. I hope Pinky comes out at some point because we only just got him less than one month ago for my daughter's birthday. This has been quite traumatic already. Petco should not sell this product.

Our hamster loves going up in this but it doesn't fit tight. The lid keeps coming off. Our cat knocked it over and Hammy got out, luckily kitty didn't eat him.

Doesnt come with anything that makes it fit tight so that it wont lean. The yellow lid to the lookout doesn't snap into place so my hamster was able to open it twice. The pieces themselves are functional. If you have spare parts to make it not lean, you're good.

Hard to get in, and seems loose. But, our Hamster lives it!

Misleading packaging. Nowhere on the package does it show you a picture of this item attached to a cage. There is a good reason for this. I purchased this item to give the hamster more room to roam since the Kaytee Starter Cage is so small. I planned to attach to the side of the cage as expansion of space. You should know there is no way to LOCK THIS onto the side of the cage. The "J" piece does not have any notches on the end. If you put it on the side opening it will slide down into position, but there is nothing to support it upright. It can tip forward or backward easily and falls off. I called Kaytee and was told to put the stem through a hole in top of cage instead so the hamster could walk into the tube and climb. I didn't want to do this since that would take some of the very limited cage floor space away from the hamster. The associate admitted that the tower would not be stable when mounted on the side. I give two stars because we eventually used the boxes and a rubber band to hold it upright on the cage by attaching it to the Kit 2 on the other side of the cage and the hamster loves them, but it is an inelegant and cumbersome solution. Kaytee should show the proper usage of these kits in a photo on the box instead of allowing people to think that they can attach safely on the sides.

It doesn’t really fit the cage and the parts don’t latch together well. Was a good idea but it just wasn’t worth $15
