Fast-Acting Allergic Itch Relief For Dogs

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION: Do not use Apoquel or Apoquel Chewable in dogs less than 12 months of age or those with serious infections. Apoquel and Apoquel Chewable may increase the chances of developing serious infections and may cause existing parasitic skin infestations or pre-existing cancers to get worse. Consider the risks and benefits of treatment in dogs with a history of recurrence of these conditions. New neoplastic conditions (benign and malignant) were observed in clinical studies and post-approval. Apoquel and Apoquel Chewable have not been tested in dogs receiving some medications including some commonly used to treat skin conditions such as corticosteroids and cyclosporines. Do not use in breeding, pregnant, or lactating dogs. Most common side effects are vomiting and diarrhea. My dog has been prescribed Apoquel for her atopic dermatitis, but I am wanting to use an over-the-counter medication as the Apoquel is very costly. Could I used Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride?
Hello my dog was just spayed and was given amoxicillin. She was also given some apoquel a couple of weeks back because of seasonal allergies. Would it be safe to give her the apoquel and amoxicillin?
Both of my dogs were prescribed Apoquel for allergic dermatitis & chronic itching. It has been very successful, but at a cost of $2.23 per tablet it's very expensive. One of my dogs had chronic ear infections requiring 2 separate ear surgeries (ear flap hematoma & myringotomy). Since starting Apoquel NO ear infections. Are there any resources for lower cost of this medication? Your comments on long term use of Apoquel would be appreciated.

My vet is on vacation but I have a question about the new meds my vet prescribed my dog. My dog takes cyclosporine eyedrops ( 1 drop per eye twice a day) for dry eye. His vet also prescribed Apoquel for his skin allergy because he can no longer take steroids due to being diabetic. Since Cyclosporine and Apoquel taken together have adverse reactions will taking the Apoquel while he is on cyclosporine EYEDROPS be harmful?
Max, my black lab is on Apoquel, a very expensive medication for sensitive skin. So I have 2 questions: Is there an alternative to Apoquel which is cheaper? Is it worth getting an allergy test and how much would this cost? Thank you Judith
My 14.9 pound 11 month old puppy took a 5.4 mg Apoquel and 2.4 mg of temaril p. Will this harm him. The apoquel was not for him. He took it from my 12 year old dog that suffers from allergies as well.
