Prescription blood pressure and heart medication for dogs will be prescribed to your pup after your veterinarian diagnoses any underlying conditions or causes. The most common diseases that can lead to high blood pressure in your pup are chronic kidney disease, adrenal gland tumors, and Cushing’s disease. Depending on the outcome of tests, your veterinarian may recommend blood pressure and heart medicine for dogs to help correct irregular heartbeats or slow fluid build-up in the lungs. In some cases, they may recommend surgery to correct a torn valve or to insert a pacemaker to correct the heart rhythm. Consult with your veterinarian to discuss symptoms and find a treatment that suits your pup’s medical needs.
Some signs and symptoms of congestive heart failure in your pup can include coughing when at rest or sleeping, excessive panting, swollen belly, pale or bluish gums, or persistent loss of appetite and exercise intolerance. Your dog might also develop generalized weight loss and muscle wasting due to the effects of congestive heart failure on other body systems.

my dog ingested my dads blood pressure medicine lisinopril 10Mg
Hello, My white Scottie Terrier is almost 13 years old. She is spilling Protein in her urine and has high BP. Is Lisinopril 0.25 or 0.5 OK for her to take? Once a day or twice a day? Thank you so much!
My diabetic cat has kidney disease, scarred kidneys, inflamed intestines, too much protein in urine. An ultrasound done yesterday confirms all of this. They couldn't do a intraglomerular blood pressure test, but guessed she likely has high blood pressure. They sent me home with Semintra, a blood pressure medication. She had a dose last night, a dose this morning. Appetite and drinking are fine, she seems normal, but has a nosebleed. Should I not give her dose tonight? My vet is closed till morn.
My dog accidentally ingested one of my blood pressure pills - 25mg of spironolactone hctz. What should I do?
My white Scotty Terrier, 35 pds. Has a urine protein creatinine of 2.4. What medication would be helpful to decrease this? Roxie dog also has borderline high BP. Lisinopril or Rafampin? I am an RN and I am familiar with these medications. I will discuss this with my Vet (who always chooses the higher cost med provided from her office). I would like an opinion for another Vet. Thank you!
Pillsbury is a 3 year old 70 lb pitbull boxer mix that was diagnosed last week with right-sided congestive heart failure. At the appointment, they tapped his stomach and withdrew about half a gallon of liquid so he's now down to 62. Since Monday, he's been prescribed Vetmedin (5mg) and Enacard (5mg). It's been several days now and his heart rate is consistebtly between 152-160 beats per minute in resting state, accompanied by heavy breathing. Is this normal as a side effect of the medication?
Hi there I have an epileptic daschund that grabbed the other dog’s blood pressure pill- will she be okay?
What would you give a dog if he was brought in after having a seizure and hardly a heartbeat and low bp and panting breath
My 18 year old cat has hyperthyroid. She was being treated with the liquid and doing well on it, gained lots of weight ect Unfortunately she then got very high blood pressure and her retinas detached.our vet prescribed bp medication and she can see again but it seems to be interfering with the other meds, she has lost lots of weight and having severe itching that she wasn't getting before-as high bp was caused by thyroid problem would it be ok to stop bp meds now its come down a lot and just trea
