I would go for clear alternatives with no lights. I use clear now and it's hard to get my little guy out of his ball, he loves it so much.

They did make it more sturdy on sides so it will not just pop apart when they run into something however they can still nibble the sides where air holes are. So heavy supervission while in use and they can roll it just right to turn off light.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Its cute! I like that it glows! I have wood floors, so it's on the noisy side. It probably would be better used on carpet. The hamster seems to like it that way. Maybe with more use, he will like it more.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] ~ I do not have a hamster or a guinea pig but since my puppy has every toy under the sun I thought I would try it. He is a 5 mo old German Shepherd that really likes to herd me cattle. Literally, I cannot walk anywhere. He will take his paw and wrap it around my leg as I walk like he's trying to play soccer. He has dog toys that have a place for him to grab with his mouth or they are soft that he can sink his teeth into. I thought this might be fun to force him to play with his paws. It actually worked. He prefers this over his “dog” ball. Obviously it is built to house a live small rodent at play time so is not t walled. My puppy did not break it though. I videoed him playing with the ball but this only allows pictures. I tried to capture some frames. He loves it. @influenstercashback
