Leopard Geckos can be excellent pets. They are sometimes considered lower maintenance compared to some of the other reptile pets. With the right accessories, you can create an ideal leopard gecko habitat where they can thrive.
Leopard geckos are desert animals, so leopard gecko substrates made of coconut fiber or sand mats are a good choice. You can also get them bedding. They may like bedding made from ground walnut shells or sand, especially if your gecko is going to lay eggs. The leopard gecko tank should be at least 20-gallons, but the bigger the tank, the more habitat you can create.
Your leopard gecko will need a shallow bowl for a water source. Since a leopard gecko’s food source is live prey like crickets and mealworms, you don’t necessarily need an additional dish for that.
Leopard gecko hides are great because they give your little leo some privacy and space where they feel cozy and secure. They come in cool designs that can look like desert rocks or logs. You can also get faux rocks and sticks for them to lounge on. You can beautify the leopard gecko habitat with live plants like aloe or a snake plant. Petco has an array of leopard gecko décor.
Leopard geckos need heat and light during the day and just a heat source at night, so a great solution is a leopard gecko heating lamp for daytime and a heating mat for nighttime. You could also use the heating mat all the time and get a bulb that doesn’t radiate heat—they need light on average about 10-12 hours a day. It’s also best to set up the tank so that one side is cooler—between 78-88 degrees Fahrenheit—and one side is warmer—around 95 degrees—for basking.
Besides hideaways, most Leopard geckos enjoy items like lounge hammocks and big warm rocks to curl upon. If you can start while they’re young, you could be your lizard’s favorite person to play with. Most geckos love exploring, so crawling up your shoulders and burrowing into your warm nape or hair could be quite an adventure for these scaly little pets. You could even get a large box or container and set up obstacle courses for your lizard to figure out. Just make sure they don’t get too chilled. If their underside is cold to the touch, it’s time to put them back into their toasty habitat.

I have just got a leopard gecko and i have settle it into its enclosure. What advice would you give for the on going care of the gecko?
leopard gecko has a hard lump above an arm
I adopted a sick Leopard Gecko from a local pet store. The pet store doesn't take good care of Leopard Geckos. They have dried Mealworms, no calcium, no humidity, and their all crowed in one hide. My Leopard Gecko Geo wasn't eating Mealworms or Crickets. She is underweight and her tail is skinny. I started to get concerned so I started syringe feeding her daily with ReptaBoost. Today I saw her throw up some of the mix. It looks like she was struggling to regurgitate. Also the humidity is high.
SO i am thinking about getting a leopard gecko, but i am not spending a ridiculous amount of money on a cage so i am using a plastic laundrey hamper that seems about maybe 10 gallons and i am setting up little hiddy spots and stuff but i dont know wha tbeedding i should use and how much light they need please hep :)
What morph is my leopard gecko?
I just purchased a baby leopard gecko from petco. I noticed it was the smallest of all of them and occasionally it will shake its legs individually like thumper... what could this be ? It eats really good!
What is the best gecko or other small reptile for a beginning reptile keeper that is relatively cheap not counting snakes because my boyfriend won't let me have one. One of my local pet stores has tokay geckos and leopard geckos the other one has a couple more options within my price range but I am still asking for advice. I have a 20 gallon aquarium to keep it in at the moment but I can go larger as it grows if I need to

Hi there. So I am looking into getting a heat dome for my crested gecko. I know they don’t have to have a heat lam but I want him to have a UVB bulb Because it’s good for them. But I am not quite sure that type to get. Any suggestions? I was looking at petco’s tropical combo pack. He lives in a 10 g. With live plant. (I will upgrade when he is bigger) also do you know an age on him? I got him 3 months ago from petsmart. I could tell he was a male a week after I got him. (Pic from yesterday)
Is my Gecko healthy?
Fancy leopard geckos need light. If I keep the red light on 24/7 as directed by, what should the temperature be?
