Canaries and finches do not spend much time outside of their habitat and will require a habitat designed to help keep them physically, mentally and socially stimulated. Provide the largest finch cage possible for your birds—since finches and canaries do better in pairs or multiples. A flight habitat is ideal with metal bar spacing no larger than ⅜ inch apart.

Finches are social and active birds that live together in large groups in nature. This doesn't mean that they always do well in groups in a home. It is best to keep either a single pair or at least 3 pairs to make a flock—as long as the habitat is big enough.

My Canary, Ringo, has a Cage that has a peaked roof, like a house. I have a chance to get a Flat-topped roof, larger cage. Which type of cage do Canaries like? I prefer the house-style cage, as it is more attractive. But, I realize Canaries don't know about their cage being attractive. Ringo would be able to fly more in the larger cage. Is the Peaked Roof just a Personal, Human Preference? And, Not the Canaries?
I had a pair of zebra finches in a closed cage. I had it for 4 days. The birds are in my terrace. All night I close the cage with a bedsheet. I was just wondering if this would actually be a safe cage for a green cheek. The seller is YaheeTech, which is based in Ontario California but customer pictures show a box with "Made in China." Mostly 5 stars, with lowest rating be 3 stars. Is non-toxic hammertone safe?
