Although your Amazon should spend significant time daily out of its habitat socializing with you, a cozy and comfortable habitat that meets all of your bird's needs is essential for a happy bird. A habitat for an Amazon should be a minimum of 36 W x 24 D x 48 H inches. It is best to provide the largest habitat possible to help ensure that your bird has ample room to stretch and exercise. Bars should be strong metal and spaced no more than a ¾ inch apart and any doors should be secure as parrots have powerful beaks and are known escape artists.
It is always best to invest in the largest habitat possible, however the absolute minimum size for an Amazon habitat should be 36 H x 24 D x 48 W inches with strong metal bars spaced no greater than a ¾ inch apart.
Because Amazons are powerful escape artists, using an appropriate carrier that is secure and also provides proper ventilation for your bird is essential if you need to transport your parrot to the vet or another location.
Although your bird should spend significant time outside of its habitat socializing with you, it does need certain accessories to make it feel cozy in its own home. Various perches of multiple textures and diameters should be placed in the habitat to encourage good foot health. An assortment of toys appropriate for large hookbills should be placed in the habitat and rotated regularly to help occupy your bird when it is not out socializing. Feeders and waterers should be secured to the cage to prevent spillage.

I am looking to get a bigger cage for my 2 year old conure. Currently I’m in the market to buy one online that is advertised as a “solid metal cage” coated with “non-toxic hammertone paint” which included stainless steel dishes. I was just was just wondering if this would actually be a safe cage for a green cheek.
What is some bird cage recommendation for 2 parakeet at the lowest price available, or if by any chance a free unwanted bird cage at nyc., Thank you
I am looking to get a bigger cage for my 2 year old conure. Currently I’m in the market to buy one online that is advertised as a “solid metal cage” coated with “non-toxic hammertone paint” which included stainless steel dishes. I was just wondering if this would actually be a safe cage for a green cheek. The seller is YaheeTech, which is based in Ontario California but customer pictures show a box with "Made in China." Mostly 5 stars, with lowest rating be 3 stars. Is non-toxic hammertone safe?
Can I have a list on what to get and feed a amazon parrot. Also what size cage? Most like would be open if I were up there. Would it keep a bird awake if I had an audio book on in the room my bird is in at night? She would be covered. Would an amazon parrot fly out if my door was open? I am scared if I get a bird that a door would be open down stairs and the bird up stairs but a door down stairs would be open! Would that happen? Is this a big enough cage for this bird?? If not what size?
What are the best type of perches for my two year old male black capped conure?
Where is the best place for me to put my bird cage?
Can I take a shower with a Amazon Parrot? What temperature range water is safe? Do I need to give them a cuttle cone? What to chew one? How often do I have to take them for beak/wing/nail trim? What size cage? It would probably be out a lot because I am home most every day. Only gone on Fridays. I want a bird that can do almost everything with me and not too small. About a medium bird? Any recommend birds? I’ve never had a bird but I know a few people that have birds. Right food? (See pic) thx!
What toys are the best for parakeets
My Canary, Ringo, has a Cage that has a peaked roof, like a house. I have a chance to get a Flat-topped roof, larger cage. Which type of cage do Canaries like? I prefer the house-style cage, as it is more attractive. But, I realize Canaries don't know about their cage being attractive. Ringo would be able to fly more in the larger cage. Is the Peaked Roof just a Personal, Human Preference? And, Not the Canaries?
Suggest a online site for budgie toys so that my budgie can play with it
Hi! Im thinking of getting a Blue and yellow Macaw bird recently and ive been doing some searching but im also scared it will be a problem with introducing the bird to my cats. Also, i live in a big house and some areas will have to be off limits as to where the bird can go so i dont know how i can insure that the macaw doesnt go there. Help!
I just bought my son 2 canarys because he was crying to have a bird but our cat is so fascinated with them, she keeps trying to grab them through the cage openings her paw fits through there! I was thinking of buying them a different cage, would that help and what would make my cat forget about them because she has been standing by the cage the past 3 hours
