Parakeets, also called budgerigars, are small members of the parrot family. Parakeets can be kept alone to bond with their pet parent or in pairs to bond with each other.
If not already assembled, assemble the habitat following the manufacturer's instructions. Add the food and water dishes and place perches at varying heights within the habitat, making sure that they are not placed above the food and water dishes to help prevent contamination. Keep at least 3 to 4 appropriate parakeet toys in the cage to help your bird stay mentally stimulated. Hang a cuttlebone and treats near a perch for easy access. Add bird litter or liner to the tray along with food and water prior to introducing your parakeet to its new home.
Use pet-safe, non-toxic habitat cleaners and bird perch cleaners. These will enable you to clean your habitat with ease without worry of exposing your parakeet to harmful chemicals.
Parakeets can be kept alone to bond with their pet parent or in pairs to bond with each other. They can also live in larger groups, however this should only be attempted if you have a large flight cage or aviary.

Where can I buy travel cages for my birds? What cage would you recommend? I have 3 parakeets and I’m moving to a new house soon and I want to make sure I move them properly.
What is some bird cage recommendation for 2 parakeet at the lowest price available, or if by any chance a free unwanted bird cage at nyc., Thank you
Is there a type of bird cage for parakeets. We have two that are in a basic counter top cage but I wanted to get a bigger one. I was told not to get one with dome top. Is this correct?
What toys are the best for parakeets
My Amazon Bandit needs a larger cage. I am hesitant to purchase a new cage as the one he has is too small. Descriptions do not indicate the spacing of the bats. Additionally there are no toys in cages to help identify which cage is best. I inherited Bandit and he throws pellets out of feed dish and doesn't seem to care for food that came with him. Suggestions?
I am looking to get a bigger cage for my 2 year old conure. Currently I’m in the market to buy one online that is advertised as a “solid metal cage” coated with “non-toxic hammertone paint” which included stainless steel dishes. I was just was just wondering if this would actually be a safe cage for a green cheek.

Mostly 5 stars, with lowest rating be 3 stars. Is non-toxic hammertone safe?
Where is the best place for me to put my bird cage?
What are the best type of perches for my two year old male black capped conure?
List of the best bird foods for parakeets
So I have three parakeets. The blue ones are both younger. I got a female for my blue male and then needed to upgrade to a bigger cage for them so I found someone who was selling a big cage wth a parakeet that came with the cage. He is green and is prob about 4 or 5 years old. When we got him he had a busted out beak. Where his left nose hole should be it was all crushed in. I think the younger ones pecked out his broken nose now don't no what to do
Can I take a shower with a Amazon Parrot? What temperature range water is safe? Do I need to give them a cuttle cone? What to chew one? How often do I have to take them for beak/wing/nail trim? What size cage? It would probably be out a lot because I am home most every day. Only gone on Fridays. I want a bird that can do almost everything with me and not too small. About a medium bird? Any recommend birds? I’ve never had a bird but I know a few people that have birds. Right food? (See pic) thx!
