A conure’s diet is essential to their overall health. At Petco, we carry a variety of conure bird seed and pellets formulated for optimal nutrition. With conure food ranging from pellets to mixes to treats, we have what you need to keep your conure healthy and happy.
Yes, conures can eat parrot food. Since conures are technically a smaller parrot species, parrot food contains very similar nutrition to conure food mix. Many commercial foods are even marketed to both parrots and conures. However, despite belonging to the same subfamily, large parrot food—like ones formulated for Amazons or macaws—often contains larger seeds or pellets that a conure may struggle to bite. Be sure to check the size of the pellets when choosing food for your bird to make mealtime easier and reduce the risk of choking.
Yes. Conures and parakeets are part of the parrot family and have very similar diets consisting mainly of seeds. However, parrot food and conure food are more similar than the dietary similarities between conures and parakeets, so you should regularly feed your bird formulated for conures.

Lately, I have observed some undigested seeds in my budgie droppings. Not all droppings are the same, most of them are normal in my opinion, but some of them contain 1-2 seeds. I wasn't able to get him to eat anything else but seeds. I bought complete food, but he selects only the seeds. He doesn't eat fruits, vegetables, egg. I also tried to give him charcoal and grit, but he doesn't try them. Is it ok to remove the seeds for several hours and provide only vegetables/fruits? Thank you!
I handfeed my 7 1/2 week old cherry conure two times day morning & night. He eats seed, cereal, fruits & veggie on his own too. Can I stop formula now?

Is there a good high calorie supplement, vitamin or food that I can offer my seed junkie parakeet? She scored a poor body condition, was described as thin at her exam. Currently taking Metacam for an ouchy foot.
My female budgie has laid 6 eggs out of which 5 have hatched. Should i feed her corriander and spinach along with seeds? Please help. Thanks.
I’ve been trying different healthier food brands for my sun Conure. He’s currently on Sunburst Conure Blend and I think it’s making his “breath” smell terrible. He’s acting and pooping normal. But could it be an infection? His beak and nostrils show no signs of discharge or discoloration
We have a pair of male parakeets now 10 days. They seem to adjust just fine, but yesterday we noticed the older one doesn't let younger one eat seeds how much he'd want to. Today I found out half of the poops (from the younger parrot) are green! Not really watery, they look more like porridge-consistency but definitely far from the normal. The younger parrot did try a little bit of green paprika yesterday, but the amount he ate was minimal. What else could be the reason of this discharge??
I bought a wild cocktail recently and he is not eating different food he eats only one food item and he is not even trying seed or corn. I tried to give it in different ways
