I use this to start my baby birds on pellets. No artificial coloring, softer than other pellets and great ingredients. My older birds enjoy this too.

Bought 3 different products for my baby GCs that I just adapted. Two others are seeds and pallets mix. One of those contains died mango and smells overwhelmingly sweet. My GCs love this pallets but not other two. I feed them this pallets and fresh chopped salad three times a day. I give then fresh fruits a little in the morning and for training.

No, I do not recommend this product.

I'm sorry to hear your macaws didn't take to the diet right away. Many birds are reluctant to switch to new food, especially pellets, but it's worth it to know your bird is getting a healthy complete and balanced diet! A gradual changeover and some simple strategies can help your bird learn to love the Mazuri diet. •Start with 90% seed (or current diet) and 10% Mazuri® Diet. On each succeeding day, reduce the amount of seeds/old diet by 10% while increasing the amount of Mazuri® Diet by 10%. •Finely grind some of the extruded food and sprinkle over your bird's normal seeds or a favorite treat to try to get the bird to taste new diet. •Try moistening the extruded diet and remove any left over after a couple of hours due to the risk of spoilage. •Try hand-feeding the new food so your bird thinks it’s a treat. •Offer the formulated, complete diet in the morning and reserve the supplemental seeds, veggies and fruits for the evening, after your bird has eaten its extruded diet. If you'd like to talk through further, please reach out to us at info@mazuri.com and we'd be happy to help troubleshoot.

Bought this food for my Conure a few months ago and he wasn't interested. Before throwing it out, decided to try to feed it to him again. To my amazement, he now loves it!!!!! This food is much more nutritious than the mixed seed he's been eating. It could be my imagination but he now seems more active/animated. Still feed him the seed mixture to give him a varied diet but the Mazuri pellets are my go to.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Is this a pellet diet that is supposedly so much better for birds than a seed diet that all brands claim theirs is the best food without proof compared to how long your bird lives or dies based on facts not ingredients or price they are the best or better

  1. Yes it is a pellet diet. Not sure about the rest of your question- can say my green cheek lived for 21 years on this diet without any health issues.

I have a Citron Cockatoo, African Grey, Blue and Gold and a Scarlet is there something that would be good for all of them?

is this small enough for finches

    1. No. It is appropriate for cockatiels . There is a new mini size but I don't see it here yet.. This is a good pellet food.
