Hi, I have a female Yorkshire terrier (3.5kg, 11 years) recently diagnosis with CKD early stage 1. My question is: I changed his kibble to Acana Wild Prairie when she was 8 years old until 6 months algo that I changed it to another one from my veterinary and now I'm worried if the high protein in Acana (35%) caused the CKD the 3 years that I gave ver Acana. Also, I'm worried about the lawsuit of heavy metals, can you also tell me if that os false? Please, I want to know if Acana caused her CKD
I can't get ahold of Acana light and fit in the USA and my dog has been gaining weight on Acana singles. Should I reduce the food or switch to natural balance fish formula for lower calories?

My 9 month old Bichon Has diarrhea for past 24 hrs, still happy and drinking water. Eats Acana puppy food with cut up chicken breast normally. Should I just cut off food for 12-24 hours and then slowing introduce food back in or should I be taking to vet?

This question is for David Elebeze. Recent studies have suggested that boutique and grain free diets and been linked to DCM in certain dogs. Ingredients such as peas, lentils and beans are being blamed for taurine deficiencies in particular dogs. Acana singles was mentioned in the study and how a number of dogs that were fed this diet developed DCM. My breed in particular is prone to heart issues, what should I do to insure my dog doesn't develop any problems?
I have a lhasa terrier mix pup and she is 4 months old, she eats everything except her dog food i have tried so many brands from acana, royal canin to pedigree but she refuses to eat. I'm not sure whether she gets proper nutrition from homly food so i want her to eat dry food, is there anything that I can do.

My vet recommended Benadryl for my dog for her itching and environmental allergies but she doesn't appear to be having any itching right now. Her eyes sometimes would get bloodshot, would Benadryl help with that? I'm wondering if I should temporarily discontinue the Benadryl since she's doing better? I don't want to add unnecessary supplements to her diet. Right now she's on a joint pill because her breed is prone to joint problems. Does she need fish oil or probiotics? she's on Acana kibble.
Honey abruptly started acting strange. She has not been home alone but for 2 hours this afternoon. She had her am walk and was herself. This evening she did not ask for her dinner and nor was she excited when I offered (extremely/absolutely out of character). My dog has been having anal gland leakage for almost a year on and off, we take him to the vet and our groomer to get his expressed, but even a week after he still has small amounts of leakage around the house, all our vet says is it is normal, but I do not want to deal with this for the rest of his life, he is only 2. We use pumpkin in his food and use acana ranchland, some days he has big stools but should we see another vet or stuff we can do at home?
