Just like you, your puppy or dog is a unique individual and their feeding requirements will vary with breed, environment, age and activity. That's why we suggest using the feeding guide as a starting point, and monitoring your puppy or dog's weight and adjusting amounts as needed. We also recommend feeding your pet twice daily and always keeping fresh, clean water available. When switching diets, it's important to transition your dog or puppy as it takes time for their digestive system to adapt to the nutrient levels in ACANA. Over a 5-7 day period, gradually mix in ACANA, increasing the amount each day so that by day 7 you are feeding 100% ACANA. See your veterinarian regularly. To help maintain freshness, we recommend sealing the bag tightly and storing it in a cool, dry location.

Questions
I have a 5wk old American Bulldog feeding her puppy milk now. Do you think this will be a good food to transition her to.
- Hi there! This is a great time to start introducing your puppy to kibble. It’s important to introduce puppies to solid food before totally weaning them. You can soak our kibble in a warm water to turn it into a gruel for puppies during this initial introduction. This helps increase consumption, because the puppies do not have proper teeth to crunch kibble, and are used to a liquid diet. By around 6 weeks old, puppies should be able to consume dry kibble, but continuing to moisten it is perfectly fine.

My dog is one year old. Should I still give her puppy food or should I switch to the adult food?
- It depends on the breed. Small dogs are usually fully grown by 1 year. If it’s a large or giant breed they can continue growing up to 18 months.

I began Acana with our std poodle puppy as Petco gave the puppy food as treats at training & she loved it!. She is 15 months old & I mix a bag each of puppy/junior, Grasslands & WGs American Waters for variety. At what age do they stop the puppy/junior?
- Hi Kleo777 - We recommend feeding our ACANA Puppy & Junior until your puppy has reached maturity! For medium to large puppies, this is around 12-14 months. Once they reach that age you can start to think about transitioning them onto an adult diet.

Would my Golden Retrievers Benefit from this food??? I was thinking Merrick or Acana. I heard Orijen is the best but idk if I wanna spend 100 dollara
- Acana is the only brand I have found that uses the best products. The beef and duck flavors are a hit with our very, very, very picky dachshund.
