Just like you, your puppy or dog is a unique individual and their feeding requirements will vary with breed, environment, age and activity. That's why we suggest using the feeding guide as a starting point, and monitoring your puppy or dog's weight and adjusting amounts as needed. We also recommend feeding your pet twice daily and always keeping fresh, clean water available. When switching diets, it's important to transition your dog or puppy as it takes time for their digestive system to adapt to the nutrient levels in ACANA. Over a 5-7 day period, gradually mix in ACANA, increasing the amount each day so that by day 7 you are feeding 100% ACANA. See your veterinarian regularly. To help maintain freshness, we recommend sealing the bag tightly and storing it in a cool, dry location.

What kind do you recommend for my 8 year old Rottweiler witch I was feeding him wilderness senior
is this a low fat dog food?
- No it’s high fat and high protein food

Is this the same as what Acana used to call Heritage Meats, or has the Heritage name been dropped with the exact same formulation?
- I believe it’s just marketing. When looking it appears to remain the same ingredients as before. We have a nine year old beagle. Her coat is beautiful and she is very full of life. She loves to run up and downstairs. I attribute this great health due to her diet. Good ingredients give good results..

What exactly is "natural pork flavor"? Is it considered to a diacetyl? Also if it's considered as a diacettl I am assuming it's extracted and synthesized in large volumes. I am going raw regardless but want to know what I've been feeding my Newfie.
- Hi HTTR - Our Customer Care team would be happy to assist you with this. Please contact them at customercare@championpetfoods.com.

Can I feed this to my three month old puppy? I have some left over from our last dog and wondered if I could mix in some with her puppy food.

I have a pitbull who's is a very picky eater . Would you recommend this food? He is currently eating back country but doesn't seem to like it to much
- Our mini-Aussies loved this food. We got it because of the healthy aspect of it but ended up discontinuing in favor of Purina One due to weight reduction our vet identified for both of our boys. I do recommend it but it is pretty expensive.

I don't see the guide portion for feeding a dog even though it says refer to the guide chart below and adjust. How much dry food should be fed to a 55 lbs dog?
- There is a picture of the feeding guide here in the product photos as well as on each package of food. If you require further assistance please contact our Customer Care Team at customercare@championpetfoods.com or 1-877-939-0006.

Can the flavors be switched up seamlessly in this brand or would I need to wean my dog off of one flavor before fully using a new flavor?
- I weaned my dog to another flavor by adding the new flavor with her old. I did this over a period of two weeks. No problems or issues. Acana is great stuff. Good luck.

How big are the pieces? I really want to get this, but my chihuahua won't eat it if the pieces are too large...she likes the small breed stuff, but some brands make ALL their food so all breeds can eat it, so I had to ask...
- I have a 14 year old 4lb Chihuahua (who is missing quite a few teeth) who was always on small breed food. My other dog was on this and my Chihuahua really wanted to try it so I let her...and she loves it.

Hi-does anyone feed there dogs wet fiord with this? I am switching to this brand of dog food because if it’s reviews. thanks
- This dog food had completed eliminated eye staining in my Maltese. He does get ground turkey toppers that I cook with Turmeric from Honest Kitchen as a topper. However, he has always had the same topper with other dry foods. The Acana made the difference!
