Does more protein mean a healthier pet food?
hello, i have been feeding my dog raw kiblets and would like to switch him to dry food. my vet suggested science diet however i noticed it has a lot of synthetic materials. i would like your opinion on this brand Acana. here are some of the ingredients "Deboned chicken*, deboned turkey*, chicken giblets* (liver, heart, kidney), turkey giblets* (liver, heart, kidney), chicken meal, catfish meal, whole green peas, red lentils, pinto beans, pollock meal, chicken fat, chickpeas, green lentils, "
If a company such as natural balance has veterinary nutritionalists on staff is that the same as brands like science diet and royal canin? Also I've always though brands like science diet and royal canin are junk can you explain why this is or isn't true?
Dear Experts, We are from The Hockaday School and are working to make an original dog food with only natural ingredients. We were wondering if our idea is successful and original. We would appreciate it if you looked at our recipe and could help us alter or work on it. Recipe: • Pork = 40 grams • Chicken = 40 grams • Salmon = 40 grams • Peanuts = 10 grams • Sunflower seeds = 10 grams • Basil = 10 grams • Rosemary = 10 grams • Oregano = 10 grams • Sweet potatoes = 20 grams • Carrots = 20 grams
Dry food recommendations please
MELANIE: thank you for your helpful answers!! In your opinion what is a better option for a balanced diet; a fresh food commercial diet that contains rice, potatoes, sweet potatoes and various meats and vegetables. Or a commercial kibble such as royal canin diets? The fresh food diet I’m referring to is called my perfect pet food. (It is not grain free) They claim that they formulate their diet with animal nutritionists but they do not work with a qualified veterinarian nutritionist. Thank you.
Is Hills science diet a premium brand - if so why? I was taught to believe wheat, corn and soy were fillers and should be avoided at all costs. what nutrients do these foods contain? Isn't rice, oats and potatoes better sources of nutrition? Is Natural Balance L.I.D. a premium brand? Also when a food says byproducts what does that mean? Is this a bad ingredient? Please explain.
Why do most vets recommend Hills science diet or Royal canin, Etc? I've always looked at the Ingredients in these brands and thought they were poor. How is corn, wheat, soy and by products good for dogs? When you compare them to Orijen, Acana and Fromm doesn't the ingredients seem of better quality? Am I missing something? can you explain why the previous brands are good quality? I'm just curious to know. Thanks!
BEST DOG FOOD FOR LOSEING WEIGHT
What is high quality premium diet, means?
Hello . Please select the best dog dry food brand . Which is the best ??? Please select the best Proplan/ N&D/ Belcando/ Royal canin/ Bosch ??
My (very tall and muscular!!) Miniature Schnauzer needs to lose about 3 pounds. Prescription Royal Canin didn't carry enough sustanance for him, so he was constantly hungry. I got him on ProPlan weight control kibble, but I'm always concerned with his micronutrients. He got a bought of pancreatitis once, so crude fat must be low. How do you feel about these fresh dog foods? Better than kibble? Or not, so due to the moisture percentage?
