If a company such as natural balance has veterinary nutritionalists on staff is that the same as brands like science diet and royal canin? Also I've always though brands like science diet and royal canin are junk can you explain why this is or isn't true?
MELANIE: thank you for your helpful answers!! In your opinion what is a better option for a balanced diet; a fresh food commercial diet that contains rice, potatoes, sweet potatoes and various meats and vegetables. Or a commercial kibble such as royal canin diets? The fresh food diet I’m referring to is called my perfect pet food. (It is not grain free) They claim that they formulate their diet with animal nutritionists but they do not work with a qualified veterinarian nutritionist. Thank you.
What is the healthiest, best for my dog, Adult Large breed dog food available? No allergens
BEST DOG FOOD FOR LOSEING WEIGHT
My (very tall and muscular!!) Miniature Schnauzer needs to lose about 3 pounds. Prescription Royal Canin didn't carry enough sustanance for him, so he was constantly hungry. I got him on ProPlan weight control kibble, but I'm always concerned with his micronutrients. He got a bought of pancreatitis once, so crude fat must be low. How do you feel about these fresh dog foods? Better than kibble? Or not, so due to the moisture percentage?
What is high quality premium diet, means?
So I asked a question about dog food not long ago and a vet here said that Vets usually recommend foods like Hills and Purina because big companies have medical and nutrition specialists on staff. Purina is pretty big and if their foods are checked, compared to the boutique outfits, why Pro Plan and not Alpo or beneful? Those are also made by Purina. Just an example.
What the best dry dog for food match my dog
We are trying to get my dog to lose weight and they have recommended science hill, what type of their food would be better? Light, perfect weight or is there any other? A lot of fat we would like to burn! TIA
Can someone please explain why foods like Science Diet and Royal Canin are considered better as aposed to foods like Acana and Fromm? I always thought wheat, corn, soy, etc. wasn't quality sources of nutrition for dogs. Isn't sweet potato, potato, brown rice, lentils, peas, etc. better sources of nutrition? my dog is currently on Natural Balance L.I.D. but I'm curious why foods like Science Diet or Royal Canin are preferred by vets. I've heard that they get paid to reccomend Hills. Is this true?
Any tips to help me read pet food labels?
Is it true that dryfood label are written before they are been exposed to high temperature, then it will lose its nutrients?. I'm lost, many pages advice to switch to raw food since its healthier for pets because dryfood is causing many health problems in pets!
