We appreciate your feedback. We could not tell by your post if you had done a gradual transition or not. We generally suggest doing a 7-day transition, as this allows them time to get used to the new flavor and ingredients. This can also help ward off against any sort of tummy trouble. We hope this is helpful. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have two fussy dogs, a poodle mix and a bichon and they both liked it. I was actually surprised and plan to buy it again. My dogs didn’t lose any weight on it but seem healthy.

This hill science canine adult small bites are very healthy for any and very dogs.no improvement at all. I will be switching my dogs brand to this one. Why this is my favorite brand is because it's low calories for the less active dogs. Plus this type of food is for digestion and organ health! It's got so much more that's healthy for my dogs!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My adult dog names Maisie liked the science Diet chicken flavored small bites. At first she was hesitant, as she would be with all new food or treats. She is an older dog and set in her ways. After a few days she took to the food and couldn’t wait to gobble it up. Now it is the food I buy for her as she likes it. I know it has good nutrients for her. I noticed that her coatis a little shinier than it has been before starting the food. I’m happy I made the switch and so is Maisie!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I usually had fed my dog dry kibbles mixed with wet food. When I received my Science Diet and was told to slowly use the Science Diet and less of what she was eating I wasn't sure she would switch. But I continued to use less canned and kibbles. She now is loving eating only kibbles from Science Diet. I must say I did not think she would change. She loves it and the ingredients in Science Diet are 100 percent better for your dog. That's good enough for me. Thank you!

Questions

Sort by: Newest Answers

Is this foodgrain free?

  1. It is not grain-free. We switched from a grain-free food to Science Diet based on our vet's recommendation, as she said new research has shown grain-free diets can cause heart problems.

Is this good for a 41/2 year old Boston Terrier that is very active

  1. It’s a diet dog food so you might need to increase the amount you serve if your dog is active and at a normal weight.

Would this be safe for my 7 month old toy poodle? She is currently 5.5 pounds.

  1. Thank you for your inquiry. Our Hill's Science Diet Adult Light Small Bites dog food is specifically formulated for adult dogs 1-6 years of age that require fewer calories (i.e. dogs that are less active, neutered or otherwise prone to weight gain). We would not recommend feeding this formula to your pup unless you have approval from your trusted veterinarian. Hill's Pet Nutrition

Good for French Bulldog?

  1. I don't see why not. It meets the needs of my Dachshunds and they are similar in size to a French Bulldog. As far as dietary needs go, this meets the needs of my dogs and should be great for yours as well!

Would this food; Hill's Science Diet Adult Light Small Bites be good for an older dog also?

  1. My dogs are both 12 and have happily and healthily been on this food since the age of three. My veterinarian approves of their diet as well as me being a satisfied buyer.

Is this food made in the USA?

  1. Above it states from manufacturer.  Look at the pictures of dogs.  “Made in USA with global ingredients you can trust. We only accept ingredients from suppliers who meet stringent quality standards.”

What food would be best for 7 would be best for a dog that has problems with his glands in the rear end? He is also bloated all the time from every dog food I try that is inexpensive. Please help?

  1. Hill's Science Diet Adult Light Small Bites Chicken Meal & Barley Dry Dog Food. Our two beagles have been eating this food since they went off Science Diet puppy food over 10 years ago. Our beagles have never needed to be expressed....and VERY rarely have stomach issues. They are rarely itchy, have shiny coats, and ton of energy. They only eat this science diet with fruit and vegetables occasionally as treats. And a dental stick as a night-night snack. Their poop is solid, small and easy to pick up in the poop scoop. This food is NOT CHEAP, but we have never had to buy supplements.

Hills Science Diet Light Small Breed is 7% min crude fat...what is the maximum crude fat???

  1. Thank you for your question. This food has a fat content of 9.0 % on a dry matter basis. We hope this helps!
