Yes, if you add another pet to Vital Care Premier, you will save $24 during signup if you choose the one-time annual payment plan, or $2 per plan each month for monthly payment plans.

If you add a second pet to your plan but your first pet’s plan was paid as a one-time yearly payment, only the second pet will receive multi-pet savings upon signup. The first pet will receive multi-pet savings upon the plan’s annual renewal date.

Upgrade your membership to Vital Care Premier online, in store, or in the Petco app. Simply sign into your Vital Care Core account online or in the app, or provide your phone number in store and select your plan. You can choose from dog, cat, bird, fish, reptile, and small pet plans. Vital Care Premier is an annual commitment.

Credit and debit cards are acceptable forms of tender for Vital Care Premier membership fees when signing up online or in the app. In store, all major credit cards are acceptable forms of payment to sign up for Vital Care Premier.  You may manage your payment methods in the Plan Details & Billing section of your member dashboard.

Petco Vital Care Premier is a 12-month commitment. Your subscription will continue to automatically renew for one-year periods that will be billed until you cancel. You can stop your auto-renew for your Petco Vital Care Premier plan by logging in to your Vital Care Premier dashboard on petco.com or in the Petco app. You can also call 858-657-2035. You will continue to be billed for the duration of your one-year term and will continue to have access to all subscription benefits throughout the remainder of your annual subscription term. Cancellations must be made before the annual anniversary processing date identified in your Petco Vital Care Premier dashboard page and will be effective as of your annual anniversary processing date. CANCELLATION OF YOUR ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION WILL APPLY AT THE END OF YOUR TERM, AND YOUR SUBSCRIPTION TERM WILL NOT BE RENEWED. Please see the Vital Care Terms for details.

Earning Points and Vital Care Rewards

All Vital Care members (Vital Care Core and Vital Care Premier) will earn points for their spending. All eligible purchases will be tracked via your Vital Care number. Ensure you earn points for your purchases by providing your Vital Care information upon checking out.

  • In store: Provide the phone number or email address associated with your account, or provide the Vital Care Premier ID found on your Membership tab.
  • Online or in the app: When checking out online, be sure you are logged in during checkout. Points will automatically be credited to your account once your items have shipped.

All Vital Care members (Vital Care Core and Vital Care Premier) will earn points for their spending. Once a member earns 167 points, they will receive a $5 Vital Care Reward.

Vital Care Premier members will also receive Vital Care Rewards every month their plan is active. Monthly Vital Care Rewards vary based on plan type. Dog and cat plans receive $15 Vital Care Rewards per month, and bird, fish, reptile, and small pet plans receive $5 Vital Care Rewards per month.

Make a purchase at least once every 90 days to keep your point balance active.

Once points convert to a reward, Vital Care Core members have 30 days to redeem their reward. Vital Care Premier members have 45 days to use their rewards

Online: Visit petco.com/vitalcare and log in to your account to see your points

Email: View your points at the top of your emails

You will receive your Vital Care Rewards within 3 days of issuance or joining Vital Care Premier. If you are a Vital Care Premier member, you will also receive Vital Care Rewards every month on your joining date. Once you have earned a Vital Care Reward:

  • To redeem in store: Load the reward to your account by visiting your account online or in the app. Once the reward is loaded, you will be able to apply your Vital Care Rewards at checkout.
  • Online and in the app: Simply apply your rewards in the “edit payment” section during checkout.

Most products are eligible for points or rewards redemption. However, Vital Care Premier membership fees, donations, gift cards, taxes, tips, cash back and shipping fees are excluded. Vital Care Rewards cannot be redeemed at JustFoodForDogs Kitchens or at any third-party veterinary partner located within a Petco.

How can I participate in the Grooming Perk?

Once unlocked within the Petco mobile app, you will receive credit for any full-service bath or bath with haircut transactions made within the last 7 days. It may take up to 24 hours for the credit(s) to show. Members must purchase at least one full-service bath or bath with haircut every 12 months for credit(s) towards a free groom to remain active.

Vital Care Premier Exclusive Benefits

We recently made some updates to member benefits, if you joined the program before August 3, 2023, you may review your plan’s benefits here.

You can book a grooming appointment at one of our Petco grooming locations and receive 20% off an https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/c/grooming-coupons unlimited number of full-service grooming packages (bath or bath with haircut), plus any additional packages or add-on services for your dog. With Vital Care Premier you receive unlimited routine pet exams at participating Petco vet hospitals. To find a participating location, please see here.

If you prefer to use another veterinarian, you can take your pet to any non-Petco veterinarian and receive $20 Vital Care Rewards for each routine vet exam outside of Petco (up to twice a year). Simply redeem by uploading a picture of your receipt or invoice through your Vital Care Premier dashboard.

A “routine vet exam” is a regular wellness checkup. If you choose a participating Petco vet, any services outside of a routine vet exam will incur extra cost, but the exam fee will be waived each time. Vital Care Premier members can also receive a maximum of $20 Vital Care Rewards for each routine vet exam at the vet of their choice (up to twice a year).

Your Vital Care Premier nutrition benefit gives you 10% off in-store and online purchases of dog food with a dog plan or 10% off in-store and online purchases of cat food with a cat plan. The nutrition benefit discount can be redeemed on all dry, wet, fresh or frozen foods, including toppers and broths. Treats and chews are not included in the nutrition benefit for dogs and cats. Bird, fish, reptile, and small pet plans include 15% off in-store and online purchases of nutrition. Wild bird and poultry nutrition is excluded in bird plans.

If you have Vital Care Premier for your cat, you get 20% off all litter purchases. There are no exclusions on brands or sizes.

If you have a bird, fish, reptile or small pet enrolled in Vital Care Premier, they receive 15% off in store, online and in-app purchases of food (any brand of dry, live, fresh or frozen), treats, chews, supplies and accessories (e.g., habitats, bedding, substrates, equipment, cleaning, heating, lighting, toys and more). Wild bird nutrition and supplies purchases are excluded.

Regular vet exams can help detect illnesses and diseases early on so you avoid costly vet bills in the future. Up-to-date vaccinations will help ensure a long, happy life with your pet. Your vet will do a nose-to-tail exam to help make sure your pet looks and feels their best.

Grooming

Proof of current vaccinations required. Help care for your pet's physical health with a full-service groom that includes deep-cleaning shampoo, blow-dry, 15-minute brushout, scented spritz, gland expression and nail trim, plus a breed-specific cut and style if you choose a bath with haircut.

Customized grooming packages include Flea Cleanse, Shed Release, Calm & Refresh and more. Some additional à la carte add-ons are teeth-brushing, breath refresh and ear cleaning.

Dog Nail Trimming (Part of a Full-Service Groom)

Regularly trimming your pet's nails can help prevent discomfort while walking and injuries caused by them not properly gripping the ground. It can also help minimize carpet damage and skin injuries. Our stylists will help make sure your pet's nails are a safe and healthy length.

Dog Teeth-Brushing (Possible Add-On to a Full-Service Groom)

Routine teeth-brushing in dogs helps prevent plaque and tartar buildup, gingivitis and gum disease. It also helps minimize bad breath, tooth decay and infections so your pet enjoys a healthy smile. Our stylists can also help spot broken or fractured teeth before they become larger health issues.
