Petco recognizes the profound role dog collars play in a canine's life, serving as more than just a functional accessory. For the traditionalist, our leather collars exude timeless elegance, promising both style and longevity. However, for the nighttime walker or those looking for enhanced visibility, our range of reflective & LED collars ensures that your furry friend stands out, even in low-light situations.
The best dog collar largely depends on the individual needs, preferences, and activity level of the dog and owner. Factors such as size, material, purpose (e.g., training, identification, or fashion), and durability can influence the choice. Popular and high-quality materials include leather, nylon, and eco-friendly options. For dogs that pull, a head collar or a no-pull collar might be best. If identification is a primary concern, personalized or embroidered collars with the dog's name and the owner's contact information can be ideal. Additionally, considerations like the dog's coat (some collars can mat the fur of long-haired breeds) and the dog's environment (some materials can deteriorate quickly if constantly exposed to water) can also influence the decision. Always ensure the collar fits properly, allowing for two fingers to slide comfortably between the collar and the dog's neck. It's also a good idea to regularly check and replace collars as needed.

Whether your dog tolerates wearing their collar routinely will depend on their unique personality. Training your dog to wear their collar gradually will help them get used to wearing their collar for short or extended periods of time.
Measure your dog's neck using a soft tape measure, ensuring you can fit two fingers comfortably between the collar and neck. Then, refer to the product's sizing guide for the best fit.

Whats the best flea collar money can buy for 10lb dogs
I brought 2 collars for my 2 Chihuahua 's but they will not let them be, they try to get out of them, and even get them caught in their mouths, they ate indoors trained. With pads. So should I make them where a collar...,? And if so what kind so they won't do this.
thoughts on bark collars?
So we are going to use a remote collar to train the puppy to never chew the chainlink fence she doesn’t do it often . A trainer on YouTube Solidk9 training recommended. I think it’s better to have a mild stem correction than broken teeth one day. Also going to use to work on her recall she is 80% reliable everywhere but backyard that’s 10% she comes back. What brands on amazon are good? And how do I condition her to the collar?
Collar training My 14 week papillon is tiny just over 2lbs. The smallest harness does not fit. I began collar and leash during potty pad time, then keeping on and off for periods yesterday. Of course she bites and plays with the leash, causing it to be more of a potty training distraction than tool. The collar, right sized no dangles made of nylon, seems to irritate her skin. She itches it constantly. Is this hurting her skin or part of getting used to the collar?
For how long and how often should I leave my puppy’s collar on
Where i got my dog from he didn’t wear a collar. Now he has two collars and a harness and always scratches at all three like they’re irritating his skin or like he’s allergic to the material. Could this be a possibility or does he just need time to adjust to them?
I've 3 Retrievers ,and we have Tick problem in our region .I thought of using Tick collar. But while playing there might be chances of getting into contact with collar like licking or chewing or biting the collars of each other .Is it Toxic ,or is it ok .Can I use collars ,pls help me .
Hey, I was thinking about using shock collars on my dogs for containment. As of right now they stay on chains, but i want them to have more room to run around. When they were young they’d fight over food or they would mess with one another by barking or dominance. Do you think this would be a good idea? I just dont want them fighting. Its the momma dog (7) and the siblings which are almost 2.
My miniature dachshund is almost 5 months old and we currently walk him with a collar and lead- which would be better - a collar or harness? I know this breed can have back problems so just wanted an experts opinion.
I have a German Shepherd, she is going to be 5 months. I had a collar on her and she doesn't like it and she was scratching at it and now it is raw on the under side of her neck. What can i do? I have been putting peroxide on it. Is that okay?
I put a Sergeant dual action collar on My chihuahua yesterday. Today her neck was red and was wining. I took the collar off and washed the dog very well. Could she have a allergic reaction to the collar or the chemical it is made out of. Is there anything else we can do?
