Fleas can not only cause your pet severe discomfort, but they can also lead to serious health risks because of the harmful diseases they carry. Fortunately, Petco carries plenty of options for flea and tick spray for cats. Be sure to consult your veterinarian about what the best option would be for your kitty.
Whether your cat is going outside to run around in the yard or just to relax in the grass, it’s no doubt a place they enjoy. Your yard can also be susceptible to fleas without your knowledge.
Before you spray your yard for fleas, be sure to remove any excess leaf and dirt piles as they could be hotbeds for flea infestation. It’s also a good idea to remove any unused furniture from your yard and mow it regularly. Once you’ve taken these precautionary steps, take your flea and tick yard spray and use it all over the entire yard—from corner to corner.
Other than using natural flea spray for cats, there are other effective ways to combat them, like flea collars. Many flea collars use a substance with active ingredients that provides full-body protection, killing fleas and ticks at certain life stages. Some collars specifically target certain types of fleas and ticks, like eggs, larvae, adults or a combination of all three.
Each product is different, and some last longer than others. Depending on the brand, it can take as little as 24 hours for the spray to start working. But if you’re working on removing an entire flea infestation, that can take up to 3 or 4 months. And you will likely need to re-spray the home or yard periodically. Follow the instructions on your product for more detailed instructions.
Another great way to tackle a flea problem can be bug bombs, aimed specifically at fleas and ticks. These annoying and sometimes dangerous pests can be tough to eradicate, but dropping a flea bomb can help to quickly clean an area of these harmful bugs.
Flea and tick powder can be a potent tool when it comes to protecting your cat. At Petco, we carry powders that not only combat fleas and tick around the house, but some can also be used as treatments on your kitty.

My indoor cat has fleas, I’m assuming my kids brought them in from the yard. Treated the yard twice, gave our cat 2 treatments of Frontline, also a pill that causes fleas to die after they bite (not sure what they’re called). Between the treatments, flea baths, flea powders with zero help, we had an exterminator spray our home yesterday. I found 2 fleas today!! I don’t know what else to do. My poor cat and home.

My cat has fleas bad. I don't let him outside. He must have gotten them at the Vet. 1st tried Hartz spot-on. Then tried Catego (Chewey.com) spot-on. Have sprayed home with Bio Spot and then used Orthodo home defense. The spot on treatments used were 30 days apart. Still having flea problems. Cat licking and biting and biting out hair sometimes. How can I get rid of these fleas? Do I have to wait another 30 days for another spot treatment?
I recently found out my cat had fleas, I have only caught about 5 fleas in a week. I gave him a bath today and have been treating him with flea medication. What is the best way to get them out of my house?
Is there a way to get chewable flea prescription without bringing my dogs in with fleas? I have three dogs all have fleas. I have a 10mo old kitten with an aggressive flea problem after running outside. She's a long haired grey and white tabby indoor cat. I've given her flea baths, topical treatments, oral medicine and a flea collar but the fleas never truly go away. Now she's scratching fur off and the fleas are slowly making their way around the house. I fear if I bathe her again they will be so aggressive we cannot stay home.
