Having an appropriate stand for your aquarium is essential to the stability of your tank. As many aquariums in the 11-19 gallon range have unique shapes, finding a stand specifically made for it is generally ideal when possible. Even smaller aquariums can weigh 100lbs or more once water and gravel is added, making them too much weight for many average shelves. An aquarium stand is both safe for your tank and turns your aquarium into a stylish piece of home furniture.
While some shelving may work, a stand made specifically for the correct sized aquarium is the best way to ensure you have stable support for your tank. As freshwater averages around 8lbs per gallon of water, even smaller tanks can have significant weight once set up. A poor fitting stand can cause your tank to leak or crack, so caution should be used if not using a commercially manufactured aquarium stand.
The best location in your home is away from windows, outside doors, heat vents or air conditioners to avoid rapid changes in temperature and direct sunlight to your aquarium.

Hey I have a small floor stand that is 25 1/2 inches in Length and 1 ft in width what is the maximum size tank I should put on it?
Is it suitable to make a 1 feet marine tank. What fish should i keep in it?
Is this tank big enough/small enough to hold goldfish fry (these fish will not be in it we are just cleaning up there other tank)
We recently bought a 20 gallon fish tank for our house. The tank is currently only holding 16 gallons of water. We currently have 11 fish and 2 snails in the aquarium, totaling to 16 inches of fish (if you count the snails as fish). That’s following the gallon per inch of fish rule. However, my family wants to add more fish. Would we be safe to add more fish or should we stick with the 13 fish we have?
Hey so I currently have a spear 200 litre tank since I moved my Goldfish to a 500 litre tank. I used to breed guppies and I want to do it again, so I was thinking of filling my 200 litre tank with guppies my question is how many guppies will fit in the 200 litre tank, thx
What would be required for a painted turtle tank? Is a 29 gallon tank large enough? Is a 40 gallon tank large enough. What is the minimum tank size for a painted turtle? Thanks
Hi I currently have 2 young goldfish, 1 Young zebra danio, and one black mystery snail! I own a 5.5 gallon tNk for my current fish and I know it isn’t big enough since I know hat goldfish can grow to a large size. What would be a suggested size gallon tank for my little fish family?
We are new to having aquariums, we really didn't realize so many things played a factor with the water. We currently have a 10 gallon tank but want to increase to a 29 gallon tank. We currently buy gallons of water but with the 29 gallon tank we really don't want to have to do that. We have well water with a salt filter. My levels from to tap was nitrate 10, nitrite 0, hardness 0, chlorine 0, alk 100, ph 7.. is my tap water safe even with the salt filter.
what is the maximum amount of goldfishes i can safely keep in a 32 litres fish tank? i dont want to overcroud the tank
Hi, I have a male adult Mississippi Map, whose carapace is around 5 inches. We have a 70-gallon tank at home, but we are going on a vacation for three weeks and will leave him in a local pet shop for boarding. The shop only allows a 20-gallon tank. Would it be okay for my turtle to be in a 20-gallon tank for a few weeks?
can i have a cherry shrimp in a 5 gallon tank with my blackmoor goldfish? or should i have at least a 10 gal? or no shrimp at all?
I have a 20 gallon tank for my bearded dragon and I just need to know how many watts of UVB do I need
