Parakeet toys provide more than just fun for your bird. An assortment should be provided and rotated regularly to help keep your bird happy. Interactive toys can help them learn to do tricks or even mimic sounds. Toys such as ladders, ropes and play gyms can provide exercise as well as mental stimulation to keep your parakeet from getting bored. Foraging toys and chewable perches are another great way to provide extra activities for your pet and help to prevent destructive behavior.
Since parakeets are active and intelligent birds, provide a variety of interactive and engaging toys and rotate them regularly. Foraging toys, ladders, swings and mirrors are great parakeet toys. Each bird may have a preference on toys, so provide an assortment to prevent boredom or destructive behaviors. Keep in mind that mirrors should be avoided if you want your bird to bond with you—you don't need it falling in love with the bird in the mirror!
A variety of toys is necessary and the actual number will depend on the size of your habitat. Ideally, provide 3 to 4 toys which can be periodically rotated to prevent boredom and stimulate different types of behavior. Toys should always be replaced if excessive wear or damage is present to prevent injury.
Parakeets are great talkers and can learn to mimic certain sounds and words with patience and persistence. These tiny birds can also learn a variety of fun tricks and be very engaging with their person. The possibilities are endless for someone who is willing to spend the time training their feathered friend.

What are the best type of perches for my two year old male black capped conure?
Is it ok for my parakeet to be chewing on a rope?
what fruits can a parakeet eat?
What is some bird cage recommendation for 2 parakeet at the lowest price available, or if by any chance a free unwanted bird cage at nyc., Thank you
Both of my birds seem to destroy everything made of wood in their cage whether it be a ladder or their perches, what is somethjng I could do about it, I don't want to switch to plastic perches.
I am looking to get a bigger cage for my 2 year old conure. Currently I’m in the market to buy one online that is advertised as a “solid metal cage” coated with “non-toxic hammertone paint” which included stainless steel dishes. I was just was just wondering if this would actually be a safe cage for a green cheek.
I have a pair of Patagonian Conures. Whenever I talk to them or try to socialize with them, they run to their toys (usually bells) an start playing. I don';t know if this them being territorial, or encouraging me to play with them.
So I have three parakeets. The blue ones are both younger. I got a female for my blue male and then needed to upgrade to a bigger cage for them so I found someone who was selling a big cage wth a parakeet that came with the cage. He is green and is prob about 4 or 5 years old. When we got him he had a busted out beak. Where his left nose hole should be it was all crushed in. I think the younger ones pecked out his broken nose now don't no what to do
I have a parakeet whos beak is long. I have the thing in her cage for her to trim it but she doesnt use it.
