My male cat is trying to mate with my female cat also my female cat wants to mate but he is unable to enter his penis in her vagina also height of malecat is more than female cat should they could able to mate?

My cat is ready to mate and it shows clearly, but her mate will only arrive within one week from now. What can i do to tone her urges down but not completely stop them?
