Every breed of dog has a different coat—some dogs have thick coats to defend against the cold or fur that repels water in moist areas. Some dogs also have thin coats if they are originally from countries with hot weather all year round. If you and your pup love the outdoors, extra protective gear for your pet can be essential, and Canada Pooch has excellent options.
The company’s CEO is Jacquelin Prehogan. She lives in Canada, which is known for its intense cold. She wanted to be able to enjoy the outdoors with her rescue pugs but wasn’t satisfied with apparel options. Thus, Canada Pooch was born.
According to their website, Canada Pooch’s products are all designed in-house at their head office in Toronto, Canada.
That all depends on the apparel you are looking for. Many solutions in the raingear line are either waterproof or water-resistant, as are some select Canada Pooch coats.
The hot pavements boots aren’t waterproof, but they do have holes that are designed to help water drain out and keep their feet cool and breezy. The Wellies, however, are designed for rainy weather, so they are waterproof to keep out the wet.
Items like the cooling vests are actually designed to retain water—this is to help achieve the cooling effect. When you add water, it helps lower their body temperature.
If you’re curious about whether or not the item you are considering is waterproof, make sure to read the description of the product or the tag if you’re in-store.

I just received a six month old French bulldog male. What is the top three high quality kibble I can feed him? I am located in Ontario Canada.
My dogs flapping his ears quite a bit...It's quite dry in Canada right now, could that cause it? There's no signs of redness, no weird smells or discharge...He's just flapping a lot. We would like to get an ear cleaner, is there anything we should avoid?
Hello, our pooch has vomited twice now within the last hour just wanted to make sure it wasn't anything too serious. It was mostly liquid like not thick or with any food in it.
My sweet pooch recently has been having constant eye boogers for the past two weeks and diarrhea a couple times a day. Her humor and energy is relatively normal but she is sleeping a lot more than normal.
Re: Ringo (Canary) - and Molting for 11 - 12 weeks. I live in southern Ontario, Canada. Winter light hours are 9-1/2 yrs. Summer light hours are 16 hrs. I have him on a 12 x 12 hrs., year round. Am I doing it correctly?
My female pitbull x has an allergy issue that causes excessive buildup of black ear wax, our vet suggested an all meat diet (which was costing $400 monthly) then the brand (Zignature, from Petvalu in Canada) started supplying a dry version which is only about $120 monthly. Lately shes been getting excessively dry skin similar to my plaque psoriasis and the buildup is leathery and raw in places causing excessive amount of hair loss. Is this her allergies over acting or a possible mite or disease?
We think there is a possibility that our pooch ate a small piece (maybe 5 inches, rolled up) of ace bandage 12 days ago. He has had no symptoms of pain, vomiting, change in diet, change in energy level, and we didnt notice anything pass in his stool (which has been consistent and normal). If it has been 12 days, are we safe to assume he is ok?
I haven’t realized that my dog has been licking her paws more than usual until today. She’s a white fur jindo mix and her paws are getting red. She has been eating Royal Canin food for a while now. I live in Montreal Canada and its allergy season. I don’t clip her nails often because they usually aren’t too long. Her skin all around feels a tad warmer. I don’t see anything on her skin either. Attached are two pictures of today and an older one to show her pre licking color. What could it be?
I have an 11 year old male Maine Coon who seems to be having difficulty getting his mouth closed . His tongue seems to be out a little as well. I’ve noticed this past little while that he seemed to have trouble with his jaw but when l’d get closer to look, he was okay. I’m really getting worried about him, is there anything you can recommend? We just moved this past year from the province of Newfoundland, Canada to the province of Ontario, I don’t have a local vet yet? I’ve attached pictures,
My puppy is 5 1/2 months old (he is a pomsky) and has been having diarrhea as a result of stress from moving from europe to canada to the use in the past week. We are changing his food but I am doing a bland diet for a few days to settle him tummy. My question is: after the bland diet for a few days, can i start him on his new food right away or do i need to do the 7 day switch from old to new food still? he is very active just diarrhea and got sick 1hr after eating this am
Hi. Whats this and is it normal (yellowish bit on leg)? How can it be treated and where can I buy the treatment in Canada? His tank is cleaned weekly and is spot cleaned as soon as I see anything. He eats normally and is usually quite energetic. He also drinks water every day. His temps are in the suggested range as well. He's just finishing (finished) his shed is most areas. I also have been giving him baths 2 or 3 times a week with a little bit of betadine in it.
Hello! Our english bully has a bump on the left side that we noticed last weekend when we picked him up from dog sitting (two other dogs there). The area is round, 2 to 3 cm diameter, hard patch (thickened skin), and the hair is so clumpy we had to shave it (electric razor) to get the pictures. He is trying to lick it but it doesn't hurt when touched. He just finished amoxocillin 2 weeks course for UTI (was still on amoxi when we saw the lesion). Any help for our pooch is much appreciated!!!
