Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Too funny! Finn is cute! I recommend purchasing the child safety door guards sold at baby stores or online. They prevent children from opening doors. I’m not sure how he manages but he is amazing! I hope this helps!

There are different products available online. Here are two websites that you can look at. You also need to look at your airlines specific requirements to make sure the product meets their standards. http://www.pet360.com/product/56464/petego-universal-sport-bag-pet-travel-carrier http://www.pettravelstore.com/petmate-airline-cargo-crate-small/

I have 5 cats and live in the same kind of environment. Our cats are also inside outside cats and I can tell you how we manage: 1) we feed twice a day wet food and call the cats for it. They come running for their food, we use the same call every time. This ensures that your cats come home when you call them. 2) Our cats are to be inside at night. ie we do not let them out after the evening feed. 3) they can go out if they wish, after the morning feed. Most predators hunt at dusk and dawn. So this minimizes the opportunity for contact of the cats with predators. If you can replace door handles with door knobs, the cats cannot open the doors anymore. We have been doing this for 12 years now, and have not lost a cat yet.

If the flap isn't in use you can cut a piece of wood or cardboard to the size of the door and slide it into the ridges around the flap (it looks like there are inserts for this from your photos). Making sure to keep all food picked up and away from the entry and outside can also help deter curious critters from poking around any more and the light may help. I haven't heard of lavender, rosemary, or mint deterring raccoons, (peppermint sometimes works with rodents) so I would avoid that as it may just attract more curiosity.

You should purchase a cat carrier to safely travel with Mennu. I have a link to a few examples below. It would be best to get Mennu as familiar with the carrier as possible prior to travel to help reduce stress - leave the carrier out so she can explore it. You may even want to try feeding her in the carrier. Take her for a short trip once before leaving. A pheromone spray like Feliway could help reduce stress. Good luck! https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/category/cat/cat-containment/cat-carriers-crates-and-kennels/cat-plastic-crates
