A 10 gallon tank can be purchased in the local Petco for less than twenty dollars ( https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/fish/fish-aquariums-kits/aquariums-up-to-ten-gallons/aqueon-standard-glass-aquarium-tank-10-gallon ). It would be easier to keep and secure than a laundry hamper. Given the temps required for geckos, plastic may not be the best option either. You will need a a heat lamp for day use and maybe a heat source if nighttime temperatures drop below 70 F. You can use slate, reptile carpet, plain paper towels or a coconut fiber substrate. Ideally for hermit crabs you would have both a dish of freshwater and a dish of saltwater. This is because both types of water have components that are important for the health of your hermit crab. In addition to both of these dishes, you also want to have a food dish present (so a total of three dishes in the cage). Overall, hermit crabs can live longer with access to only freshwater than they can if there is only saltwater available, but again it is much better for them to have both available. I hope that answers your question, and thank you for using Boop by Petco!

Leopard Geckos are phenomenal reptile pets and are generally very easy to care for. The most important factor in caring for any reptile is making sure their home is appropriate for their specific needs. Leopard Geckos like hot environments with low humidity. A basking lamp should be on one side of the tank and an under the tank heater is also recommended. Their diets are comprised of insects, so they should be fed gut-loaded crickets, mealworms, and superworms. Their habitats should be cleaned weekly and fresh water can be offered daily. They should not be misted. Otherwise, they are very hardy creatures and a lot of fun to take care of. I'd be happy to answer any specific questions. If you wish, feel free to start a consultation.

Hi there! We have a Crested Gecko and have so much fun with him! Don’t worry, they are a great starter reptile and are pretty easy to keep. In the winter we use a red light to keep the tank warmer, but not a specific heat lamp. This keeps the tank warm enough without getting too hot. Also very important is the humidity of the tank. Keeping it spritzed several times a day is necessary. We started with a tank your size and it probably would have been just fine long term, but we ended up purchasing a larger tank because we wanted a different look. Best of luck and have fun with your crestie! Thank you for using Pet Coach.

Hot, soapy water can be used followed by a thorough rinse. If that doesn't work, a 50/50 solution of distilled water and vinegar can be sprayed used. Allow a 10-15 minute wet contact time before rinsing thoroughly. ExoTerra, Zoo Med, Natural Chemistry and API all make "herp safe" cleaners that may be effective in removing odors.
