Soak Razor in warm water for 15-20 minutes. Gently rub off any loose shed but do not pull or tear at it. If he is wiggly, you can place him in a small container with paper towels moistened with warm water for 15-20 minutes. The moist heat and humidity should help with the shed. Make sure he can breathe in the container. You can put this moist hide in his enclosure so he has a place to go when he is shedding. Monitor his stool and submit a sample to your vet to diagnose intestinal parasites if you see more "green liquid".

Check out online sources such as LLL Reptile ( www.lllreptile.com ) and DFW Reptarium ( www.dfwreptarium.com ). You can also look up any upcoming reptile shows. A quick search showed ReptiCon ( www.repticon.com ) coming to Grapevine during the summer months.

The tank may be too cold. If so, Rita will stay on the mat. Low temps can affect appetite and activity in reptiles. Maintain a basking spot temperature in the 90s F. This will produce a gradient of the mid 70s to 80s in the rest of the cage. You can soak her in a warm 50/50 solution of water and unflavored PediaLyte. This will warm her up and treat or prevent mild dehydration. Feed appropriately sized prey. Crickets or dubia roaches are recommended over mealworms for juvenile geckos. They should be no bigger than the space between her eyes. Gut load them for 24 hours prior to offering to maximize nutritional value.

Thanks for reaching out about Gexter and including photos. Review diet to include a wide variety of insects, all being gut loaded with fresh vegetables. He does appear overweight with a fat tail and legs. These are only the external signs of obesity, what can not be seen is the internal damage to the liver (hepatic lipidosis) and possible heart disease. The red area/rash could be due to a compromised immune system and secondary infection, metabolic disorder (liver, kidney) or other problem. A veterinary visit is needed to assess and provide a diagnostic/treatment plan. Remove any substrate (soil, bark) that could irritate the lesion and replace with clean cloth or towels. Review and correct diet and husbandry. Try offering water and then a moistened food via a syringe. Good luck.

Chong needs to be seen by an experienced herp veterinarian as soon as possible. By your description, he may have a respiratory infection. The clicking and gasping may indicate advanced infection which can be stressful causing the posturing. It may also be neurological in nature. For this reason, an exam is strongly recommended.
