Pets bring so much to our lives including stray pet hair on your clothes, your furniture, your floor and everywhere in between. A decade ago, one professional groomer decided enough was enough, and the FURminator was born.
Always start by choosing the right deShedding tool to match your pet’s body size and hair length. For best results, use the FURminator deShedding tool 1-2 times a week. With short, gentle strokes, use the tool to reach deep under the topcoat to remove loose hairs in the undercoat—where all the stubborn shedding comes from. Continue for 10 to 20 minutes, though the actual time will vary depending on your pet’s breed, as well as the condition and thickness of their coat.
A professional groomer invented the FURminator deShedding tool over a decade ago. It is the first and only tool to efficiently and comfortably remove a pet's loose undercoat and has grown to become the most popular, sought-after and beloved shedding solution on the market.
The FURminator deShedding tool’s precise, stainless steel edge reaches through your pet’s topcoat to safely and easily remove loose hair from the undercoat without damaging the topcoat layer or cutting their skin. It features a FURejector button designed to release loose hair with ease. The tool helps reduce the amount of fur your pet sheds around your home by removing hair from the undercoat before it has a chance to shed.
While brushing detangles and removes topcoat debris, deShedding removes the loose dead undercoat from the pet without removing or damaging the topcoat. When used as directed, undercoat deshedding removes most loose hair before your pet has had a chance to shed it on the surface of your home. In cats, it can also help reduce hairball formation.
For best results, use the FURminator deShedding Tool 1-2 times a week for 10-20 minutes each session. You may need to use the deShedding Tool more frequently during heavy shedding seasons.

We just adopted a long haired cat and she isn't enjoying grooming at all. I've tried the furminator and deshedding gloves. Do you have any tips for making it more enjoyable for her please?
My male dog (yellow lab) has redness near his private area and it is hard for him to walk what is wrong with my? we got him furminator yesterday and ever since then it has been there. I couldn't get a pic because he is sensitive to the area and wouldn't let me lift up his back leg, so i got a pic that look like the thing he has. Thanks. he is a yellow lab 8 years old around 100 pounds
Thank you vet Andrea your advice is helpful. Just to comment she does nip me even for no reason so that’s why I feel the need to discipline she needs to know it’s not okay. How will I introduce new people if she gonna nip . Also I have the furminator for shorthair she just doesn’t want me to do anything but feed her . Give her nonstop treats and play with her . She won’t even let me mom brush her like that. She just scratches nonstop. Maybe it time to take her to vet again for these issues?
