I see a lot of great reviews for cats. The ones I’ve seen for rabbits aren’t that good. Has anyone had a good experience with this for their rabbit?
- I dont have a rabbit, however a groomer recommended that I not use this on my cat, because it not only removes excess hair it also pulls on hair on his body. This makes shedding even worse. She recommends a mitt brush and rub in a circular motion, then remove hair with a normal pet comb or brush

Is a standard size good for a 14 pound short haired cat?
- While I use mine for my 15 lb cat, the one for large cats works better. I have 2 small and 1 large one. The small one is best used on kittens and my 7 lb kitty.

What are the differences between the deshedding tool for large and small cats? My kitten is about 1 year old and is 7lb, so 10lb is within his reach but not a guarantee.
- The only difference is the siize of the blade. The bigger furminator covers a greater surface area so may need less brush strokes to groom your cat.

Would this work well on a small, short-haired dog (chihuahua, 5 lbs.)? I can't find the right FURminator for both short hair and small dogs.
- I think it would work just fine on a Chihuahua. The only thing I'd be cautious about is the metal teeth. You need to use it gently, especially on a little tyke like that one. I used mine on my cats and they hated it.

what is the difference between the short and long haired furminator?

I have a Furminator descending tool for my small med-long hair cat. How much undercoat should I remove at a time and how often should I use it?
I bought a Furminator for short haired dogs after my girl's bath earlier this week. She's starting to shed due to the change in weather. Though, I've noticed some complications with her fur. The hair on her lower back and shoulders comes out easily, which is great! However, the hair on her mid back is more coarse/rough and takes more effort to comb. Is there something wrong? Do I need a specific shampoo to make it softer? What should I do? Pics: 1. Her entire back. 2. Soft fur. 3. Rough fur.

My lynx point siamese kitty sheds like crazy, no matter what I seem to do. I have heard brushing everyday helps but i have been doing that for several weeks, at least 10 to 20 min a day and it hasn't seemed to lessen the shedding at all. I cant even pet her without getting handfuls of fur. I understand cats shed of course but she is short haired and the shedding is 100 times worse than my other 4 cats. I have always used a Dog Comb to comb the Winter coat from my dogs - both long and short-haired breeds. Now, there is the Furminator. I tried it, and I find the Dog Comb is better to get the Undercoat combed off the Dog. I find you have to use the Furminator, which is too sharp, to brush them down to the skin, irritating the skin. What is your opinion on combing out Winter Hair on Dogs? (long and short breeds). I used to groom all sorts of breeds of dogs, using a Dog Comb.
