This tool is amazing! It's well worth the money. Unfortunately for dash couldn't find my house so I had to pick it up myself. I won't do that again!

I’ve owned the Undercoat deShedding Tool for Large dogs with short hair for over 12 years with good results. Dogs include two labs and a springer spaniel with fairly vigorous weekly use. Wonder if folks are applying too much pressure and breaking the tool-

We were having quite a time with our Husky mix and his coat shedding. We used the deshedding tool a half a dozen times and the results were amazing. Naturally there is still some hair being shed but no where near the previous amount.

No, I do not recommend this product.

I've got a 130+ lb Rottweiler that sheds like crazy, and I used this product and It worked better than expected. The Rottweiler has very fine hair, and the deShedding tool, removed so much dead hair and my dog seems to feel much better.

Yes, I recommend this product.

The worst tool to buy for your pets

This product is absolutely awful!!!! Please don’t buy this and use it on your animal! Furminator is a tool that acts a a razor so essentially you are take off your pets top coat of hair when that’s not even part of the coat that sheds it’s the bottom coat. In the long run you’ll ruin your pets hair causing it to mate and causing your pet not to shed properly and making them super uncomfortable. Please do your pets a favor and never buy any furminator deshedding brush. (Recommended: metal pet hair rakes, metal bristle brush)

No, I do not recommend this product.

at what age can I use this brush on my aussie shepherd? he is 14 weeks old. can I start now?

  1. You can start using this tool on your puppy now to get them used to brushing. We suggest using it once or twice a week for 10-20 minutes. You can use it less frequently when you first start using it. So that we can answer your other FURminator questions please contact us at PetSupport@spectrumbrands.com.

I am getting a rough collie, have never had a big dog with lots of hair. Will this brush work ?

  1. First, you are getting an absolutely wonderful breed of dog. I had a Rough Collie as a child and she was one of the best dogs I've ever had. And yes, you are going to need a deshedding brush for the drifts of hair that are going to be everywhere. The Furminator is the best deshedding brush I've used (and I have a drawer filled with stuff that didn't work). We use ours on both a Beagle and a Labrador and it keeps the shedding under control. And now I want a Collie again.

I have a short hair dog and a long hair dog. Do I need two different brushes?

  1. The guy at Petco Unleashed recommended that I get the long hair tool as well and it works great for me! Highly recommend this.

Would this make a good brush for a Doberman Pinscher? He has very short hair and sheds like crazy!

  1. Thanks for asking! The deShedding tool is great for any breed that sheds including Doberman Pinschers. For more help call FURminator at 1-800-645-5154 or email PetSupport@spectrumbrands.com. We are happy to assist you!

How often can be Used!??? Daily??? For best results!!! And does the hair have to be clean before brush!! ??? Meaning do I have to give my pet a bath before each use!??? Thank you In advance

  1. Thanks for asking! The deShedding tool should be used 1-2 times a week for 10-20 minutes. Make sure to brush with a pin brush or comb first to remove any mats or tangles from your pets coat before using the deShedding tool. It helps if your pet was recently bathed but it isn't a requirement. For more help contact FURminator at 1-800-645-5154.

Would this brush be the size for a Beagle/Coonhound mix?

  1. Thanks for asking! The short hair version would definitely be right. To size the tool though we suggest going by your pets weight. The large size is good for dogs weighing 51-90 lbs. The medium size is good for dogs weighing 12-50 lbs. We hope this helps you! For more help, contact FURminator directly at 1-800-645-5154.
