A fuminator is a special comb used on dogs, it can help with fur shedding and can be found in most pet shops. furminator is actually a brand name, they have several products, this is the one i usually recommend: http://www.furminator.com/products/brush/brushes-and-combs/adjustable-dematter-tool.aspx

I agree the furminator is sharp and doesn’t work well on lots of dogs. I use a comb and also a slicker brush. Grooming daily will help and won’t be as irritating to your dog. Thanks for using Boop by Petco to help you care for Jake.

The move could affect his coat. You could try bathing him in the Furminator shampoo followed by Furminator brushing to remove hair (be careful as you can over groom). If this or other skin issues develops Cooper should be examined by his veterinarian to make sure he doesn't have an underlying thyroid issue.

Heavy shedding can be extremely frustrating! Try bathing Leah about once a month and brush her at least 1-2 times per week in an attempt to minimize shedding. You can also use a special grooming tool, such as a Furminator (https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/furminator-short-hair-deshedding-tool-for-small-dogs), which is designed to remove some of the extra undercoat that is most often shed. Just use caution if you decide to use a Furminator because it is easy to overdo it and create some bald spots! I hope this helps and that all goes well!

The Furminator would be a good option. It doesn’t hurt them when you brush them. As long is you don’t brush one area for too long, you won’t remove too much hair. You just have to pay attention to where you are brushing. This would be your best option to remove the undercoat. Please feel free to post any additional questions.
