I bought a few months ago and rarely used it, but recently I started using it 3 days ago every day and today I noticed less hair shedding which I love and my cat actually enjoys me grooming her! Love this product

This brush works great, I wish I would have purchased this earlier. However, I do warn others to be cautious and careful when brushing - I had used this on my cat and it worked great but in one area she has a bald spot now.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I had to come leave a review to warn people. The brush is great. The best brush I've ever had BUT BE CAREFUL it will rip your cats whiskers off. DO NOT BRUSH THERE FACE. I accidentally brushed over top of the whiskers you cant really see and it ripped them right out ! 3 times I accidentally did it ! he didnt seem to mind like it didnt hurt him but still. but other than that its awesome !

Yes, I recommend this product.

I have a chonk. Enough said. He is a big boy, so naturally I took him to the vet and was informed that he wasn't grooming properly. Which makes sense, he probably cant reach like he should, most likely. I always noticed he had excess "fur" laying on his "fur" but didnt think much of it until the vet said he also had dandruff. I got this to try to help him with his hygiene. Works pretty good! I've been seeing alot less "fur sitting on his fur" on his back. He doesn't seem to mind me using it but I have noticed he likes the feeling of the glove grooming tool I have more, but he still doesn't mind using it. I get off good amounts of hair. I need to get a 2nd for my other two cats. Also his coat looks shiny. Very revitalized ! Would reccomend.

Furminator for Cats

The furminator for large cats works incredibly well. I couldn't believe how much fur was removed from my cat. I thought my cat would not cooperate while I was brushing her but she absolutely loved it. I wish I had purchased this sooner.

I ordered the Furminator online and picked it up at my local Petco store yesterday. I used it today and the results were incredible! My cat let me brush her for about 40 minutes and the Furminator combed out enough hair to make a fur coat! I couldn't believe the amount of hair that it was able to comb out. My cat absolutely loved it! She sat on the couch and allowed me to brush her coat with it and even switched sides when I needed to brush her the side she was laying on. My cat loves it and so do I! I highly recommend this product! It is an amazing grooming tool and a must have for any cat owner!

Yes, I recommend this product.

I have a long haired balinese cat. Her hair is soft so most brushes dont catch it and help with shedding. This is the first time a brush has actually removed her hair and her fur looks amazing. I brush her outside because so much comes off and it must mimic the way her tongue pulls her hair or something because she enjoys being brushed now.

No, I do not recommend this product.

My cat doesn't love it, but she tolerates being brushed with this much better than anything else I've tried.

Questions

Can this be used for short haired dogs? My dog is extremely sensitive to brushing and hates slicker brushes.

  1. Yes, this can be used on short haired dogs. If there's any issues with it, please contact us at PetSupport@spectrumbrands.com.

What’s the difference between your large and small brushes. My cats still 6 months old but still growing so would it be ok to get the  the large one.

  1. The small is recommended for cats weighing less than 10 lbs. The large is recommended for cats weighing more than 10 lbs. So that we can answer your other FURminator questions please contact us at PetSupport@spectrumbrands.com.

When should you replace your Furminator tool?. I have an American Shorthair Black Cat who is very large and I have been using the tool for 1 year. It amazing me how much hair I get when I brush the cat but I'm sure it was more when it was newer.

  1. Great question! The tool should be replaced if any of the teeth become broken or bent. Your pets skin oils and flakes can build up on the tool. We suggest cleaning it with mild soap and water occasionally to clean the tool. For more help contact FURminator at PetSupport@spectrumbrands.com. We are happy to help!

What is the difference between the long- and short-hair versions of this product? The pictures look exactly the same. I have Birman cats which have medium-length fur, so knowing the difference will help me choose the correct product.

  1. Thank you for asking! The teeth on the long hair version are longer to make it work better on long hair. If the majority of your dogs hair is 2 inches long or more we suggest you get the long hair tool. For more help call FURminator at PHGAmazon@spectrumbrands.com. We are happy to help!
