Your correct, it could potentially become dangerous very quickly, especially if the other dog is much larger than Deevo. I would recommend that you keep them safely since you can never be sure if the other dog will hurt Deevo. The other dog could nip and hurt Deevo even without trying. The best way for the other dog to stop attacking Deevo is for his owner to start obedience training to teach him limits. But if his owner is unwilling to do this, the safest place for Deevo is away from the other dog.

It should not be used in areas where your anole will come into frequent contact with it. This may lead to skin irritation. Instead, clean and sanitize the tank, bowls and any hard, non-political tank furniture. Discard anything that cannot be sanitized. A soak and bath in a diluted Betadine solution may rinse away mites and treat minor infection. Soak for 15 minutes and use a cotton swan to gently clean around the head. You may need to bathe your anole and clean the tank several times over a few weeks time to completely eradicate the mite infection.

I am very glad that you are looking into husbandry before purchasing an ackie! There is a good care sheet with information on ackies on the Reptiles Magazine website. Based on your location in TX, it may work well to have the ackie outside, but there are a few things to consider. Evaluating the temperature requirements for this species in comparison to the temperatures that you have in your area during the year will be important. We don't want the monitor to get too cold at any point. Thankfully, if needed, supplemental heat sources can also be used outdoors. If these are used, please ensure that they are properly positioned so the ackie cannot access them, and that they are weather-proofed to prevent any electric shock. Also ensure that humidity is high enough in the enclosure - depending on your area, it may need to be supplemented for this species. I would recommend the use of digital thermometers and hygrometers (measure humidity) to keep an eye on the temperature and humidity i

Firstly remove all small branches and leaves. The safest method is putting the wood in the oven if it fits. You need to put it in at 200F and cook for 2 to 3 hours, do not leave unattended. You can soak bigger pieces for 24 hours in a cup of bleach to 1 gallon water solution in the bath. Then you must rinse thoroughly and repeat the soaking at least 5 times in clean water to remove the bleach. Then air dry the wood. Obviously the bleach has to be properly removed. Personally I would use the oven method and if not just buy ready made wood from the pet shop.

And thank you for your question! Hills Z/D is a great allergy diet. The way it works is that it is a hydrolyzed protein diet meaning that the proteins that normally cause allergies are too small to trigger the allergy with the hydrolyzed formula. Hill's Derm defense is a great food as well. The way that Derm defense works is that it strengthens the Skin Barrier and it has multiple antioxidants and phytonutrients period before switching to Derm defense I would suggest speaking with your veterinarian who previously placed Louie on Z/D to see if this would be a good switch. Some other things that help with allergies would include omega-3 fish oil supplements and essential 6 Spot On by dermoscent. Help this guide you in the right direction.
