Dachshunds tend to be snugglers, and also love to be buried (like under a blanket!). I'd look into a dog bed (or even a large cat bed) that has a [clamshell or hooded design](https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/harmony-hooded-cave-cat-bed-in-grey) that she can crawl into and be covered up by it. Since Pepper went to Rainbow Bridge Dolly does a lot of pawing her pillows and blankets when I take her to bed. Could. She be trying to leave her scent to claim territory? She didn't do this as much when Pepper was here.

She may be distressed by the loss of Pepper. With it being colder, she may also be trying to make a nest. I don't think this behavior is often based on territory. This behavior can be caused by anxiety or pain. If you are concerned about her, a quick exam by a vet may be able to determine what could be going on.

I'm confused in making choices between crate and own personal bed. My both dog and cat are trained to sleep on time and share one crate. They are very discipline at night. Since I bought them their own bed, I'm planning to let them sleep freely on th

If the sleeping arrangements work well right now then I would probably stay with what works. If you decide to switch, and it doesn’t work out well you can always go Back to a crate at night, but it will probably take several night of retraining. I think heating blankets would be a good idea for your dogs. Maybe you could save up to afford a heating box in the future for them. I'd get a couple of heating blankets for the dogs. Put a layer of regular blankets on the bottom of the igloo, then the heating blankets, and a final layer of regular blankets on top. This will warm the upper blankets, but keep them from potentially getting burned if the blankets are hot. I hope this helps!

Where I live the winter and colder months have come. Peter has always been energetic. Is it normal for flopsy to move a bit slower and sleep more? flopsy still eats all his food and all his water.

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! While not necessarily normal, this can certainly be seen during the winter months. If she is otherwise fine, I would not be too concerned about this. However, if she develops any other symptoms like decreased appetite or vomiting, have her evaluated then. Good luck!
