Yes, undercoat rakes are very good for dogs, especially when used regularly. Undercoat rakes help to remove dead hair and dirt from your dog's coat, which helps to keep it healthy and glossy. It also helps to prevent matting and tangling, which can cause discomfort and skin irritation for your pup.
It's recommended to use an undercoat rake on your dog at least once a week. You may need to use it more or less depending on the breed and type of hair they have, as well as how often they are groomed. It's important to brush their coat before using the rake to make sure their hair is free of dirt and tangled fur.
When using an undercoat rake on a dog, start from the neck and move down their back. Use short and gentle strokes to comb their fur and remove any dirt, debris, and dead hair. Be sure to use light pressure to avoid pulling on or tugging their fur, as this can cause discomfort. Finish with a regular brush to make sure their coat is smooth and snarl-free.

I have always used a Dog Comb to comb the Winter coat from my dogs - both long and short-haired breeds. Now, there is the Furminator. I tried it, and I find the Dog Comb is better to get the Undercoat combed off the Dog. I find you have to use the Furminator, which is too sharp, to brush them down to the skin, irritating the skin. What is your opinion on combing out Winter Hair on Dogs? (long and short breeds). I used to groom all sorts of breeds of dogs, using a Dog Comb.
What would be the best tools for grooming a short haired dog (Amstaff)?
My dogs coat looks nibbled like it's been trimmed with a razor
I bought a Furminator for short haired dogs after my girl's bath earlier this week. She's starting to shed due to the change in weather. Though, I've noticed some complications with her fur. The hair on her lower back and shoulders comes out easily, which is great! However, the hair on her mid back is more coarse/rough and takes more effort to comb. Is there something wrong? Do I need a specific shampoo to make it softer? What should I do? Pics: 1. Her entire back. 2. Soft fur. 3. Rough fur.

Why during brushing my puppy some hair come out with brush
Hello! I'm looking for an inexpensive set of clippers for Mia. She has, what seems like, a double coat of hair now and since I don't have the means to take her to a groomer right now, I want to give her a nice trim since it's getting warmer, and because I want to be able to see any potential bugs that try to go on her. Any suggestions? That is her right now. Thank you in advance! Stay safe and healthy!
My dog has extreme shedding and dry skin in her back
I have a Furminator descending tool for my small med-long hair cat. How much undercoat should I remove at a time and how often should I use it?
I have three dogs, all essentially Pomeranians. They hate being brushed. My concern is their fur will end up too matted and will need to be shaved, which I know should be avoided. How do I get them to not be so aggressive and run away even when I haven't touched them yet?
