From this picture the level of plaque does not justify the gingivitis, as there is not much plaque on Mimi's teeth. So it could be that the nature of gingivitis is viral, or it could be just immuno-mediated. Further testing is required to understand if the cause is a virus. If these test are not available, then symptomatical treatment is advisable. Flagyl is an antibiotics that we commonly use for gastro-intestinal bacteria so perhaps I would consider a different antibiotic with a broader spectrum.

Hi there! I’m not familiar with this brand, but those are good ingredients! You could definitely start your other cat on it, as long as your regular vet has no concerns based on your cat’s health history. As long as he’s on a high quality food, it may not be necessary until you start seeing the early signs of arthritis or other joint troubles.

Hello. As you can see on the product, this does have the seal of the VOHC (Veterinary Oral Health Council), but when I look closer at the recommendations they have, this product seems to be better for dogs, than cats. It is absolutely safe for cats, but if you want to use one truly recommended by the VOHC for cats, then look for Healthymouth Toothpast/Brush Kit Combination for cats. This is the only toothpaste type product they recommend specifically for cats & this was of February, 2022. If you cannot find the Healthymouth toothpast for cats, then the Petsmile product is perfectly fine to use on Sweetie. Thanks for contacting Boop by Petco.

Sussie is a cute name. If sussie is on a well rounded cat food she does not need a multi vitamin. If you choose to use a vitamin I find brand does not matter to much. I would avoid mixing anything with the water. Hope that helps

This is probably due to a severe allergy, although it could also be fleas or mites. First of all, in order to rule out skin parasites, you will need to treat with a high quality flea treatment (advocate or advantage) and worming treatment. Ideally you should get her to the vet to perform a skin scrape - this might reveal an infection or a mite infestation. If all of those came back negative, the next step is to treat the allergy symptomatically and try discovering the cause of the allergy. Some medications can be given in order to stop the chewing and repair the skin lesions (steroids and antibiotics). Some shampoos can be used to improve skin quality and allow normal hydration (EPI-SOOTHE shampoo). There is also a nice topical spray available, it's called Cortavance. Hopefully you will see some results after all this, if not you and your vet should consider starting on a long term allergy treatment.
