Many dogs don’t chew treats or kibble. As long as she’s not having a problem then it’s nothing to be overly concerned about. I would try a variety of tiny treats, soft and hard to see if one works better so she doesn’t do this. Thanks for using Boop by Petco to help you care for Stella.

The key to doing treats while a dog is on an elimination diet is to use treats that have the same ingredients as the food you are trying. Sometimes the easiest way to do this is to use canned food of the variety and flavor that you are using to put in a Kong or bake into treats. Other options would be to use sweet potato chews if the food you are feeding has sweet potatoes in it (which Zignature kangaroo does not) or giving dehydrated chews that are the same meat source that you are feeding (which will be a challenge for a kangaroo food). So, for the food you are feeding right now, the best option may be to use canned Zignature kangaroo to create treats for Lucy. Good luck! I hope that was helpful. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.
Hello and thank you for your post on Boop by Petco! I like to use Tricky Trainers because they are grain free and are only 4kcal/treat. They also smell amazing to dogs and seem to be quite tasty to them. You can purchase these at any major pet supplies store. I hope this helps!
The premium and super premium brands typically use higher quality ingredients (named protein sources, no meat meals, etc.) and have less fillers or additives. The discount or store brands frequently use lower quality ingredients as well as grains in addition to more fillers and additives. These ingredients may contribute to allergies and increased inflammation in a pet. That said, if a pet won't eat a premium brand or suffers GI upset from them, then all those positives won't matter. I always recommend feeding the best quality food you can afford, is easy to buy and that a pet will eat and does well on. If that happens to be a lower quality diet, so be it. The website www.dogfoodadvisor.com an excellent resource for researching and comparing diets.
Unless the raw meat is a formulated raw food diet, then the raw meat alone is not a balanced diet. There are a number of raw food diets that are formulated to be complete diets, so if that is all Ma wants to eat right now, you could look into feeding her one of those for now. There are also some freeze dried raw formulations that might be a good option. Stella & Chewy's ( https://www.stellaandchewys.com ) makes both formulations, that might be something to look into. Good luck! Thanks for using Boop by Petco.
