Difference between Purina Pro Plan and Purina One for Kittens

vet says that tonys SDMA is 13, high normal, early stages of kidney disease. He should be on a diet that is phosphorus restricted & of all the senior diets I've tried he likes best Purina pro plan focus adult 11+ salmon & tuna. Of all the senior diets this has the most phosphorus at 1.5% dry matter & 0.35% as fed. This seems like too much. What's a acceptable amount of phosphorus for tonys condition? We've tried some senior rx diets, he disliked them & vet says it's Not yet tme for a renal Diet

Jack has IBS. We visited friends & he ate the cat food & got a tick that wasn’t found for a week. He has explosive diarrhea since the 30th & the medication, endosorb, that I’ve given him since the 4th has not helped At all. Yesterday the vet gave me metronidazole & I also gave him Imodium ad. still no difference. Tonight I got purina pro-plan veterinary diets ‘EN’, but since yesterday, he has stopped eating. He licked his poo tonight though. ALL of his blood work & stool came back clean.

Trying to get my elder cat to eat a senior diet lower in phosphorus for less stress on kidneys!Tried royal canin aging 12+, hills science 7+& 11+, Purina pro plan 11+..he really doesn't like any of them.The one he likes most is the pro plan but it has the most phosphorus of them all at 1.54% dry matter. any other suggestions?I've tried some senior rx diets too that he won't stick with. I know any food is best for his kidneys of course than no food but I just want to get him on a proper food. Thx

So I asked a question about dog food not long ago and a vet here said that Vets usually recommend foods like Hills and Purina because big companies have medical and nutrition specialists on staff. Purina is pretty big and if their foods are checked, compared to the boutique outfits, why Pro Plan and not Alpo or beneful? Those are also made by Purina. Just an example.
