Yes, dogs can be trained to use the litter box. You would go about just as if you were training him to go outdoors. Traditional litter or recycled paper litter can be used. You'll need to see what Max's preference will be regarding litter.

Hello and thank you for reaching out to Boop by Petco. It is perfectly OK to litterbox train Nyla. This will be a good way to help prevent her from having accidents elsewhere in your house while you are at work! She may not actually like doing her business in a litterbox like cats do, but you may be able to set up an area for her with a puppy pee pad that you can train to be her bathroom. How do I potty train my dog ?
I have had amazing success using a product called Fresh Patch. You can order this online easily. This product has its own website and it is delivered to your address via autoship every couple of weeks. It is basically a patch of grass in a box with an absorbent pad underneath. The clients of mine that have used this have said the puppy automatically began using the patch and others had to physically pick up the puppy and put it on the patch several times before the puppy is trained. I would give this a try and see if this works for you. Taking your puppy out on a regular basis and praising will also help reinforce good bathroom habits. I hope this helps!

One product that I recommend for people is something called Fresh Patch, which is a patch of grass delivered to your house every month.
