Hi Melanie, I’m am currently giving a joint tablet and fish oil right now. Is this ok instead of the supplement that I just posted? the only difference is that the origin supplement has probiotics, prebiotics and enzymes. What is your opinion? The supplements I am using now are Nordic naturals Fish oil, and cosequin DS joint tablets. Which supplement would you give (the origin or the Nordic naturals fish oil and cosequin DS joint tablet) and why? Thanks!
Hi Melanie, thank you for your answers. Would you personally recommend Nordic naturals or RX vitamins? what looks like a better product, or are they both good? Thanks!
Am I able to give my dog fish oil from Costco or is it better to stick with animal formulated fish oil? She gets Nordic naturals currently. (for pets)
Is supplementing with a joint pill, fish oil, and Glandex For anal gland issues, a sensible supplement protocol? The brands are Nutramax, Nordic naturals and Glandex. And do healthy dogs need probiotics and enzymes on a regular basis? Please explain. Thank you.
Thank you Melanie for the article. So is it saying the following 10 supplements (in the article) are not at all helpful? Should I be giving any supplements at all? what do you think about glucosamine, fish oil, probiotics and enzymes? I use Glyco flex, Nordic naturals and Conklin products.
Hello Melanie, I’m giving Chloe fish oil by Nordic naturals per according to her weight. Should I be giving vitamin E when I give the fish oil as well? Also is there any scientific evidence that heart supplements (bio cardio, canine cardiac care) help the heart in any way by prolonging heart issues such as murmurs? please explain, thank you!
I forgot to mention I compared the values of each fish oil and both were very similar per 1/4 tsp. so why would RX recommend double? RX vitamins had 750 mg of fish oil, 135 mg of EPA and 90 mg of DHA. Nordic naturals had 1,000 mg of fish oil, 150 mg of EPA and 90 mg of DHA.
I’ve been researching about pet supplements and in particular fish oil and joint supplements. The research states that it is a bit unclear to wether these supplements provide any Benefits. Is this true to a degree? And if so, can you elaborate? I am supplementing those things anyways just as a precautionary as the risks seem minimal. Please explain, thank you. The brands I’m using are Nutramax and Nordic naturals.
Is it ok to add fish oil to my dogs diet of Acana food. It has a 4:1 ratio of omega 6:3. She has some seasonal itching and I want her coat to look nice. I was thinking of adding grizzly salmon oil. She has had Nordic naturals in the past. The food does add fish oil and probiotics so is it ok that I'm adding additional fish oil and would you also recommend probiotics as well? She has no medical problems. Thanks!
Why do liquid fish oils recommend twice to triple the dose of gel cap fish oils? Just curious. Is it because they presume the liquid fish oils will go rancid faster. RX vitamins isn't a pump bottle it's a flip top, so I'm assuming it doesn't go rancid as fast. Is this true or will it go rancid faster? If I give half the dose will she still be getting adequate amounts of omega 3? Thanks! I like Nordic naturals but I like that RX vitamins has added vitamin E, minerals and omega 6.
Hello,I was suggested to buy VRS or Nordic brand for omega3 and Dasuquin for glucosamine. Is there other good brand for omega3? I prefer treats pls!. Is Dasuquin the best? Naturvet brand (NASC seal) could be a good option? If so,which product (there are several options) or what other brand could I buy instead? Thanks!
I am in need of urinary grain free dog food for my pug,any naturals dog foods that fit that description?
