Great question! Because Ohu is a small breed dog, I would recommend feeding him the Hill's Small Paws adult food. It's an excellent food for small breed dogs like Ohu. I do recommend slowly transitioning from his puppy food to his new adult food to avoid stomach upset. To do this, feed him 75% old food, 25% new food for three to four days, then give him 50% old, 50% new. Again feed this mixture for three to four days, then feed him 25% old food, 75% new food. After feeding him this mixture for another three to four days, give him 100% of the new food. If he does have any stomach upset during this time, such as diarrhea, increase the amount of old food and decrease the amount of new food until the diarrhea is resolved, then continue to increase the amount of new food. I hope this helps!

Hill's puppy food is a complete puppy food and you do not need to supplement it. You should feed the puppy food for the correct size (as an adult) of your puppy. Do not let her eat her poop. It is a bad habit, likely because it smells a bit like her food. Pick up the poop immediately after she eliminated it.

Hello and thank you for reaching out to Boop by Petco. Congratulations on the new puppy! I recommend purchasing a Small Breed Puppy food. Any of the well-known large dog food companies (Hills, Purina, Royal Canin, Blue Buffalo) will have excellent, well-balanced diets for puppies. There are feeding recommendations on the dog food bags that tell you how much to feed based on weight. Always make sure she has access to water. Do not feed human food, as many foods that we eat (chocolate, onions, garlic, avocado, raisins, grapes) are highly toxic to dogs. I hope this is helpful!

Any food that has an AAFCO certification label on the bag has been tested to be well balanced. And any food that is labeled for puppies is designed to support growth. So I would go with a small breed, puppy dog food with an AAFCO label. I really like the following brands: Royal Canin, Hill's Science diet, Evo, and Eukanuba. Best wishes taking care of your new puppy. And don't forget that vaccinations usually start around 8 weeks of age, so schedule an appt with your veterinarian soon if you haven't done so already. Take care.

Great question! You want a high quality food, and typically you won't find those at a supermarket. Those are lower quality foods made from poorer ingredients, which is why they are cheaper. Iams and Purina ProPlan are both high quality foods that are cheaper than Hill's Science diet. I recommend feeding Reno a puppy formulated food from one of those two brands. I hope this helps :-)
