Hello I rescued a 5 yr old Boston terrier 3 months ago and he seems to always have a runny nose and Goop coming out of his eyes I took him to a vet about 10 days ago and they put him on chlorpheniramine 4 mg every 12 hours . It doesn’t seem to help at all . Could there be something else going on with him ? Thank you so much Cynthia Fabricius
My cat has just started methimazole for high thyroid levels. Since she started this medication, she started coughing periodically. She has had allergies in the past, so I am unsure if she is reacting to the medication, having allergy problems, or if it is something all together separate. I plan on calling the vet on Monday for an appointment. In the meantime, should give her her allergy medication. She has chlorpheniramine for allergies.
My 10-yr-old Yorkie is scratching and chewing his paws constantly. He is on Chlorpheniramine Maleate Tabs 4 mg. 1/2 tab 2x daily. In addition, I put him on a single protein food a couple of months ago (Kangaroo). Although that helped some, he is still scratching & chewing. I feel sorry for him. I am also concerned about his getting hot spots. He is bathed with Oatmeal/Aloe shampoo and his groomer recently used Hemp shampoo to see if that would help. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks!
Hi, My dog has itchy paws and a collapsing trachea. I give him CBD oil for his trachea and started loratadine for his paws...it didn't help with his paws but the loratadine does help with his cough. I was recommended piriton by his first vet but could never find it (until now). Am I able to give him piriton and loratadine together? They're different active ingredients so I would think so but wanted to check first. Many thanks
My cat, Jacob, was recently diagnosed with allergic bronchitis and benadryl isn't effective in controlling his pollen allergies. What is the difference between benadryl, cyproheptadine, and hydroxyzine? They're all antihistamines. Is one more effective than the other or do they all work the same even though they are different chemicals?
Lina has been itching like crazy and sees a dermatologist. She takes chlortrimitron and gets RX baths and got her first cytopoint injection today. She’s still miserable. Can she also take Benadryl just for tonight? She took 18 mg chlortrimitron at 8:00 pm
My vet recommended claritin for my pug's allergies. I had claritin d and I didn't think about it at the time because it said 10 MG. She has been having a reaction all evening, I gave it to her about 24 hours ago, half a pill. She seems like she is slowly starting come out of it, but should I still be worried? She is 23 pounds, and I gave her half a pill.
My 4 month old puppy woke up with a the bridge of her nose swollen and her eye lids are slightly swollen, i'm worried she may be having an allergic reaction to something. If it looks like an allergy the only antihistamines I have in is Piriteze which each tablet is 10mg of Cetirizine Hydrochloride and another store brand that has 10mg loratadine in it. would any of these be suitable?

My dog consistently hacks/coughs. Sometimes he vomits phlegm or white foam. The vet ruled out kennel cough and an xray confirmed "bronchial patterns". We give him benadryl every day and that helps for a bit. He was prescribed tamiril p but its a sterroid and not for long term use.
Hi- I have a 15 year old cat who is being treated for asthma and chronic bronchitis as well as seasonal allergies. She takes prednisolone every 3 days. I have Zyrtec and another vet prescribed antihistimine that makes her sleepy to use as needed. I also have little noses decongestant to use prn, I have an albuterol inhaler with a a special spacer for attacks I use rarely. Tonight she seems sniffy. Sometimes I think the antihistamines give her a cough. What do you recommend I use?
My pug was on 1 and a half mg of prednicare daily for allergies (apoquel didn't work ) I hv had to stop it as she has an eye ulcer she stilll is getting a piriton tablet twice daily Could I increase the amount of piriton or is 2 a day her maximum dose as she's so itchy I'm not Interested in trying her on cytopoint
