Amlodipine Besylate Cat Medicine

my cat has been vomiting 5 out of 7 days a week for the past 3 weeks. i've tried various soft foods, after he wasn't eating his dry food. today, he did not touch his soft food. he is having his teeth cleaned in april. he has a sore on his lip that he was taking a steroid (prednisolone) for. he has high blood pressure and is taking amlodipine besylate for it. he's kept up his energy level up, just like a kitten, but he's 14 years old, and stays indoors. how can i help him?

Can tony take a lysine supplement with his other meds:amlodipine besylate, methimazole, tumil K potassium supplement and mirtazapine appetite stimulant? He also eats a kidney diet and I wonder if the powder lysine supplement may flavor the food and make him like it better? Thanks!!

Hi tony is on amlodipine for hi blood pressure and my vet is getting ready to start him on mirtazapine appetite stimulant so he’ll hopefully eat his kidney diet. Can mirtazapine affect his blood pressure? Thx

Took my cat to the emergency vet last night. Spent a lot of money. Daisy has sudden severe hypertension, no primary causes found, all labs normal. The amlodipine has not helped her symptoms. Can I double up on her meds?

Hi! Tony is on methimazole and his most recent labwork Says his thyroid level is 1.8. Is this is a normal level? I ask because he lays by his water bowl a lot but his kidney levels are good but I was told hyperthyroidism can cause extreme thirst...1.8 is not considered hyperthyroidism right? He also takes amlodipine for High blood pressure. Thx!

Cat 1.5 years on Amlodipine 1.25mg 1x/d & Felimazole 2.5mg 2x/d. 6mon not eating, drinking more water & lost weight (4.8kg to 4kg in 3mon), got CBC & vet told me cat has anemia (28) likely CKD but when I asked about kidney function said upper normal (14). I asked for specifics, vet said would forward, instead vet nurse called to book cat for anaesthesia + $1000 aprox ultrasound & refused to release the bloodwork to me. Wanting second opinion, 10-14y/o FIV+ flea eggs found, why ultrasound?

Hello my vet has decided to put tony on a potassium supplement tablet because his labs show a potassium level of 3.1 but all his kidney values are normal. He is already on amlodipine and methimazole for hi blood pressure and hyperthyroidism. My question is, when we check potassium again in 2 weeks, if the potassium supplement raises his potassium level to a normal range , does he remain on the supplement indefinitely? .. or will it take more than 2 weeks to normalize his potassium level? Thx

My poor Kitty started on a new Heart med called amlodipine 2.5 mg (1/2 tab) I don’t think he’s lathagic but he sure isn’t drinking much water. He was just diagnosed with Moderate cardiac myopathy. He had a drink well drinking fountain but I was tired replacing them..had it for years. Am I stuck supplying fountains? Or is something wrong? He appears to be fine but cats are so good at covering up what’s going on. His name is Olie he’s a Four and a half and a MainCoon. Thank Yo

My cat is a ~16 year old on meds for high blood pressure (Amlodipine) and hyperthyroidism (methimazole). She gets 1/4 tablet twice daily for both meds. She is a difficult kitty to pill. Is it safe to administer both medications at the same time rather than space them out? My preferred method would be to give them to her in two pill pocket treats (which she is more likely to take). I just want to be sure there won't be an adverse reaction to giving them to her at the same time. Thanks in advance.

Max is 15 years old. Has early kidney failure. He takes amlodipine and potassium tabs. Last two days has excess salivary flow. Had a dental within the past year. Do have a new cat in the house stressing him out. His Bib has been soaking wet and I did see drool this morning. Was hungry but wouldn't eat his favorite food tonight. Had bloodwork 2 weeks ago. Vet has had trouble with in house potassium levels in the past so he is going next week to redo bloodwork to send out. Red spot on tongue

tony takes tumil k supplement, in total two & one half pills / day & they are huge, so I cut them up which equals 6 pieces in the AM & 4 pieces in the PM.(He also takes amlodipine every 8 hrs & methimazole every 12 hrs) the issue is the tumil k. even cut up they’re big pieces. Is there some other form other than pill for a potassium supplement? I’ve tried the powder,he needs so much of it that it’s very overpowering mixed in his wet food &he wont eat it. I hide the pills in treats but still Hard

Hi my vet has tony on 1/4 Pepcid each day this week b/c he has some GI upset from trying new kidney diets over the last 2 weeks & this morning I heard him vocalize in the box b4 a bowel movement( he was not vocal b4 urinating)..could this be due to upset stomach? He just had his 4 mth checkup, lab work, urine check & all normal except for slight elevation in kidney values) Also is it safe for tony to take an appetite stimulant with his amlodipine,methimazole & tumil K? Thx!!
