This pad works for outdoor cat on freezing nights
The heating pad works well and my outdoor feral cat is using it whenever he isn't checking his territory. My only suggestion for improvement is to make a softer pad that is a little larger ( 2/3 rather than 1/2 of the circle of the igloo style pet house) since the cat is 16 lbs.

Keeps them warm and happy
Great product. I use it with no fabric cover for my outdoor feral cats, cleans well with a damp cloth. It fits inside the Petmate Kitty Condo, which my cats use as a feeding station.

pet heating pad
I bought the igloo heating pad for our two outdoor cats this winter. I should have bought a larger one so I wished I had taken measurements. Still the two cats did use it on a cold and rainy day but they do not go in the igloo otherwise. I am hoping that they discover how nice and warm it is to sleep on the pad together. The pad is not hot to the touch for safety reasons but it does feel nice and warm. I recommend it now and hope that it continues to work for several years, you never know.

Doggie comfort!
My shelter Rescue Kayla loves her heating pad, it's in her Igloo dog house covered with 2-3 inches of straw. It keeps her warm and comfortable. Cord wire wrapped to keep her from chewing it. Great product. I already had one this was just in case something happened to the other one!

Igloo-Style Heat Pad
My adolescent 75 lb. Lab destroys almost everything that is loose so I was concerned that he would chew the cord or scratch through the pad, but I needed to do everything I could to ensure he is warm during the day when the family is away. The stretchy pad 'cover' lasted a couple hours, but I am very pleased with the very durable pad. I put the dog house in a corner and ran the cord up the corner of the wall so he would find it less interesting. Covered the pad with hay (not straw). He made his warm, hay bed and the straw compacts around the edges and has obscured the cord. It gives me peace of mind.

works great! I'm using it in a dog house for stray cats that live on my property. mommy kitty and her 3 kittens, they love it. I'm sorry I didn't get it sooner. Don't cheap out and buy a cheaper version, you'll regret it. I did!

Is it safe to use an extension cord with this?
- Yes, However, MET requires that all manufacturers put the extension cord statement “Do not use with extension cord” on every item that is MET listed by UL 499 standards. This is because they cannot test every extension cord on the market in conjunction with our products for safety. Also, MET suggests that an extension cord is not recommended as a permanent fixture and should only be a temporary solution when using any electrical product. If placed inside the igloo house, if a dog or cat were to be wet from playing outside in the snow,, can this heating pad harm them? As in give them an electric shock.
- Our outdoor heated beds and pads are water-resistant. We understand that pets collect snow and water from being outdoors. Our products are designed to be used safely with pets, even when the pet is water-soaked. Please make sure to place the bed or pad in a relatively dry area such as a covered porch, garage, kennel or dog house. The bed or pad should not be placed where there is a potential for standing water from heavy rain and the product should not be immersed in water.

I have an Extra large Igloo will the large pad fit? do they make and extra large
- You'll want to measure the inside of the Igloo to determine the overall dimensions. We only carry up to a size large. The dimensions are 17.5" L x 30" W x 0.5" H.

My coonhound chews everything-is this sage for him
- The K&H Lectro Igloo-Style Heated Pad is not considered chew-resistant. We understand that pet beds are not cheap and we recommend that pet parents closely monitor their pet’s behavior as they introduce the bed. If chewing behavior exists, the dog may be teething and you want to wait to introduce the bed. We also suggest that the bed be introduced only when a person is present so that negative behavior can be stopped & to encourage the pet to understand that this is a resting spot, not a huge play toy.

Can you put a blanket over the top of this? Is it soft enough to just have by itself?
- We do not recommend placing a blanket inside/on top of this product. The heat won’t travel through fabric that is close weave based and can be hazardous to the product, and may cause a malfunction. We suggest using only the free faux fleece cover included with the pad, or our Deluxe Igloo-Style Heated Pad Cover also available as a separate purchase.

Is it safe to leave blankets on top of this pad?
- We recommend using the Igloo-Style Heated Pad with or without the fleece cover which can be purchased separately here: https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/kandh-igloo-style-heated-pad-cover-5000897--1. Its washable, soft weave allows the pad's warmth to radiate through to your pet whereas a blanket or any other cover would trap the heat inside the pad, possibly causing a malfunction.

Will it hurt to put the heated pad (with a cover) on top of the pad that I bought which exactly fits the igloo?
- As long as the pad is stable is will be just fine. The rubber pads that you can buy for the igloos are fine to place under the Lectro pads.
