The gate itself is nice and easy to install. The lock however is going to be an issue and will likely need replaced with something else. It's stiff and when locking and unlocking the screws are quickly being pulled out of the porch. I have greased them etc and I am still having the same issue. Too much tugging and jerking to open them works the screws out.

I bought this for my pool deck entrance. the auto lock feature is nice but i thought that also meant auto close. we had to add a heavy spring to the bottom to make it close on its own in case someone forgot to shut it behind them. other than that, we are happy with it. I'll attach a picture.

GATE WORKS GREAT. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS WE USED SCREWS THAT WERE TOO SHORT AND IT GATE CAME LOOSE FROM THE WALL. EASY FIX WITH PROPER SCREWS. WE HAVE THREE SMALL DOGS AND THEY CANNOT GET THRU GATE. WISH TH E METAL CLOSING WAS NOT SO LOUD WHEN CLOSING. MAY GLUE SOMETHING ON CLOSURE TO HELP LESSEN THE NOISE. REALLY PREFER THE METAL LOOK RATHER THAT THE USUAL WOOD.I MAY TRY GLUING SOMETHING ON THE LOCK THAT WILL HELP LLESS NOISEY

Is this gate suitable for outdoor use?
- The Auto-Lock is made for indoors. Even though it is made of aluminum, the hardware is not weather-resistant.

Why don’t you list the measurements of this gate? Isn’t that basic information needed to ascertain if it will work for my needs? I need a walk-through gate that fits in a 23inch doorway and have no idea if your gate will accommodate this.
What is the height of the gate? I'm looking for something around 27 or 38in. high...
- The Auto-Lock Pet Gate is 29.5" tall when in installed.

the width of the gate is not shown, can it be adjusted and how? I need 2 gates...one 48 inches wide and one 65 inches wide
- The Auto-Lock Gate is adjustable up to 40.5". To fit the 48-inch opening you will need to add a 10.5" extension (model BX1). The max width is 62.5" with the larger extension (model BX2).

Is the gate door self locking or do you have to lock it once you go throug?.
- Just nudge the Auto-Lock gate with your foot or hand, and it will close and lock itself. If you walk through without doing anything, it will stay open.

- Thanks for your question. Unfortunately, the configuration you're describing will not work with this gate. Because of the way the latch works, gate must be installed in a straight line. The Duragate is another option as it can be installed at angles similar to what you're describing. See PETCO sku number 1309544. Hope this helps!

Can this gate come off this hinges easlily so that it does not have to be up all the time?
- There is a relatively simply way to take the gate down that leaves the hardware-mounted parts in place but it is not recommended because it leaves the hinge bracket and latch exposed. For maximum safety, always keep gate closed and latched.

Need 48 inch wide open and close dog gate
- Petco sells the Auto-Lock Pet Gate (SKU: 1309650) which has an adjustable width that spans up to 40.5 inches. They also sell the width extension for this gate. You could use the 10.5 inch with extension (SKU: 1309617) and easily span the 48" inches you need. The extension is fixed width. The gate is adjustable so you'd set your gate to 37.5 inches, add the 10.5 inch extension and--voila--48 inches! Here's a photo of the (white) gate with the smaller extension.

Where do i find a pet gate that stands 56" high?
- Well, you could try the Cardinal Gates Duragate (PETCO SKU 1309544) with the HEIGHT extension (PETCO SKU 1309722). You can add 2 height extensions. The gate stands 29.5-inches tall. Each extension adds 8-inches so that's 16 inches + 29.5 = 45.5 inches. You're now 10.5 inches away from the height you need. Depending on how high you can get away with mounting the gate/how large your dog is, perhaps this will work for you. If he/she is a big pup, installing the gate a bit higher may not be a problem as long as he/she can't get UNDER it! GOOD LUCK!
